    Very similar stance here.
I got mine because it suited my needs in a truck and I liked it best after comparing to its competitors. And, because Toyota, which still means something....I think/hope.

It's far from perfect, but still pretty damn good IMO.

Society has trained people to believe that everyone has debt, it's the American way.
What they should be teaching is that there is no better feeling than being debt-free.

    One reason I drive a 10 year old truck.:eek2:
Another reason is that I like the truck...

I most certainly am! (I tried to push the corners back in but it's a known problem that the tabs wear out and the fix is far more work than I'm willing to put in)

I imagine the discussions they have in the Japanese plant about engineering trim pieces. It’s like they want some things to be flimsy and precarious just to make a point.

I had a good checkup at the shoulder doctor yesterday.
Much better than my last visit a month ago.

I had stopped the pain meds and wasn't progressing well with my stretching and PT.
We decided that I would start taking them again last month, and my stretching and movement have greatly improved.
He has me back on the 800MG ibuprofen and 10mg hydrocodone.
I only take a 1/2 a hydrocodone at a time, once or twice a day, I never take a whole one.

Still won't go back to work until mid-September or so, if I go back at all.
    Might end up retiring.

Still amazed by the different sizes of the implants in each shoulder.
Doc just says each implant was the right one for the situation..

    Left, done in January.
PT was easier and the shoulder was looser.

    Right one, done in May.
It's much tighter and harder to stretch out, but it's getting there.

Because they're trucks, and not hatchback coupes. Not sure why it wasn't always true.

    The Dirty T ( ^_^)_且

Same shit happens to me some times. I use one credit card to pay utilities and shit like insurance premiums every 6 months so I get points and I pay it off every month. When it happens I'll drop from around 830 to 827, I guess for increased credit usage.
Another thing I don't understand is that my wife and I have all shared accounts and savings, no individual accounts, and have for almost 3 decades. Yet her score is always higher than mine.

I'm at the point where I don't really care about my credit score. It's high enough to qualify for the best rates available but I don't really apply for any sort of debt so it doesn't matter.

I might buy my dream Tundra in the next 12-18 months but I am only going to finance a nominal amount at which point the interest rates on the loan won't matter as it will get paid off quickly anyway.

Unless you are actively seeking more debt, I tend to fall into the who cares camp. But I agree with @nobodyintexas that the idea of credit scores dropping due to less debt is borked in nature. I guess the banks reward slavery to debt more than financial freedom...

Good to see you're improving. Hope that trend continues.

How does the hydrocodone treat you? I only ever had it prescribed once (@Blue Thunder kidney stones) and I hated it. It didn't do much for the pain and I would wake up with a killer headache and cottonmouth the day after I took one. I just went without.

Are the implants titanium? Do you set off metal detectors?

    Hydrocodone is fine with me..
I was taking them every 6 hours for a week after surgery.

I'm only taking a half or sometimes a 1/4 of one.
Takes the edge off the pain of pushing and stretching joints, tendons, and muscles that haven't moved that way in 30 years.
I haven't been able to lift my arms beyond parallel to the floor in 20 or so years.

I think they are titanium. I can ask my daughter, she's my physical therapist..

I haven't been through a metal detector yet.
I'll be going to 2 concerts in August, Collective Soul and then The Offspring a week later, so I'll know then.

If I go back to work, I'll have to walk in and out through a metal detector as well.
I already have 10 dental implants, and they sometimes set the detectors off at work.

    I appreciate your concern, Adam.
I feel better right now than I have in years, just from not going to work since January.
Losing 25+ pounds makes me feel better all around.
That simply came from not sitting down for 13 hours a day holding a steering wheel.

I'm seriously considering retirement, with or without the UPS buyout..

Oh damn. I didn't know your shoulders were that messed up for that long. That's gotta be a helluva change to be gaining mobility back after decades!

I'm just a stranger on the internet, but you seem way more upbeat and happier without the grind. If it's financially feasible, take the out. Kinda funny, but a UPS delivery driver was the one who said this to me so I think it's fitting: "Nobody on their deathbed has ever said 'you know, I wish I had worked more.'"

    That's good advice.
I'm on a couple of UPS retiree Facebook pages, and they say the same thing.

What I don’t get is we use the cc and then pay as much as it off we can, if not all of it. If we pay all of it, then it’s like oh we extended ur cc line so probs for a drop ur credit score. Didn’t pay it all off but paid it down? Cool. Here’s a higher score

    Congrats! That's a huge win.

    I wouldn't worry about a 10 point swing though.

    I'm usually at 830-845, I don't really care as long as I'm over 800.
