The past two times i’ve been at the gym, there’s been a gal there who has a bunch of tattoos. She also has a very large neck tattoo…that at a glance makes it look like she has a 14 day old patchy beard. I had to look twice to make sure it wasn’t. No idea what the tattoo actually is, i never got close enough to get a better look. Then again it’s cringeworthy enough that i don’t want a better look at it. But as long as she’s happy with it, that’s what counts.

 

I added some blueberries, a reality check, and a smidge of honey to my oatmeal this morning.

I have culled my friends to a remarkably small cadre of capable trustworthy folks.

I am trustworthy, but not really capable.

 

A couple of weeks back I was driving somewhere and I noticed a lifted sandy colored Tundra had stopped right in front of an intersection with his hazards on. I watched as the driver got out and approached a Porsche that was behind him and I remember thinking to myself, "Oh boy, we got a road rage scene unfolding here".

The driver of the Tundra approached the driver side of the Porsche and signaled that there was something on the roof of his car. As I drove by, I saw that it was a cell phone that had accidentally been left on the canvas top of the Porsche.

It was a small thing but I couldn't help but wonder how many people would have stopped to help. I asked myself if I would have stopped to help. My biggest fear for myself is not becoming immoral, dishonest or anything along those lines. It's more that I have consciously noticed that my heart has hardened over time and I have allowed myself to become jaded. I'm a much more distant, colder and at times uncaring person than I was as a young person.

 

I’ve been thinking about buying an E-Mountain bike, since I think if I got a dirt bike, I would end up breaking my neck.

Class 1 pedal assist bike is what I’m thinking. One that looks as normal and quiet as possible, because I think a lot of people on the trails hate them.

The problem is there are many single track trails where you can’t ride them, I’ve heard it’s because of trail etiquette being breached.

Other option is to find some new hobbies. Maybe a lake with a ski boat is what we need.

 

I can relate.

but I don't put that onus on myself.

Humanity has earned my/our attitude.

I still do civilized things for folks. it's just rarer.

we are all aware of our comfort circles. I have a "be nice" circle, too.
very few people get to be there.

sure, I'm courteous to the general public. but that's because of my upbringing.
