I am truly hoping this recruiter keeps me out of the bs, but we will see. The biggest issue here is I moved to the poorest county in the state and the type of work available matches. Couple that with how spoiled I was in my last role... WFH, Director, no direct reports for the first time in decades.... yeah, i dont want to lose any of that so it will be interesting for sure. good luck on your side as well!

 

According to our financial advisor this is completely normal. Don't sweat the small stuff is what he told me.

He is a bit extreme.
I've learned a little from listening to him at work, but there is no way I could forgo having a good life just to pay my house off in the least amount of time possible...

 

He's lightened up on a lot of that stuff. He's more moderate about it from what I've seen now. He used to be scorched earth about debt and stuff like new cars, but he found that was so rigid people struggled. He relented and has modified his approach.

I think he genuinely wants to help people and he does have a lot of good advice, but you definitely have to tailor it to your own unique situation.

I've listened to him on and off for years.
The ONLY debt I have is my mortgage.
That is why I'm able to be off work for 9 months getting both shoulders replaced...
