I wanna know the story behind this.

It was 13 for my oldest....11 for my youngest because I'm fighting her trying to be like sister....


Speak of attitude.... If my 17yo doesn't lose hers and start listening when driving my damn truck....

 

Holy ever loving crap, you all have been busy. 22 pages over the weekend. I can't keep up with all that.

My son was and still is super mellow, very smart, level headed, responsible. He's 26, married now, lives on his own since he was around 20.
My daughter. She's 16. Always the complete opposite of my son. I love her dearly but she has always been a handful, and I wouldn't change it for anything because I don't want a weak ass pushover for a daughter. What that means though is she is very strong willed and we butt heads at times. Unfortunately she has had to deal with some life things that have forever changed her. And that sucks, at such a young age. Punishment in our house is very light because of some very sensitive things. But long story short in 4th grade she had a teacher that was physically abusive to her in front of the whole class multiple times. She liked to single out my daughter for some reason and constantly made an example out of her. She would pull her hair, like really hard, almost to the point of throwing her on the ground, flipped her desk over, snapped her with hair ties etc. In the end everything was handled, but it's never enough. Then just under two years ago her best childhood friend died unexpectedly. He lived a couple houses down from us and these two spent every day together from about age 4-13. We are friends with the family and we would all hang out. Well, this poor boy was experimenting with things and took what he was told was a Perc, but it ended up being fentanyl. That night he died in his bedroom trying to crawl to get help as he was ODing. That morning I was out in the yard early and I heard all this screaming down the street. It was his mom in the front yard yelling for anyone to come help. I ran over with my wife and we entered the house and saw everything. It's been rough to say the least.

 

Trauma sucks, but it also gives perspective and grounding. Gallows humor helps.

 

I wish. It's the same story everyone on the internet has. The paparazzi hasn't seen them out much so it must be true right. Wanted to see who would take the bait. But I know for the most part this group doesn't care much about sports.

 

Holy WTF man. That's some serious shit to work through.

 

I pretty much can't stand her. And yet also would because I'm a pig like that.

Tattoos and meetings have come up a number of times here and this is an interesting take on them

 

I would rather a tattoo than a meeting. I can sleep or read during a tattoo. I can't do either while in a meeting...

 

Only as long as she was completely, totally, mute.

 

Meetings suck so there is also that.

Wife had a horrible day at work. I knew she went into the office today with a 1:3 chance of giving notice. Epic politics.

She’s still employed, so I picked her up with dinner. And wine. By 5:30 she entered the “I drink and know things” phase.
