You mean a still picture doesn’t mean it is hovering!?

And stealth drones being used for nefarious reasons wouldn’t have anti-collision lights on?

    It all smells…

My department left it to each team to do their own thing so my team just did a lunch. One of the other departments apparently did a party.

There's other places very similar to this, but on a slightly smaller scale... Some of these events aren't bad, but yes can be a bit much!!

In Vegas we had the Holiday Cactus Garden which is at the desert botanical garden adjacent to Ethel M... They'd do a pretty nice event w/minimal gang activity (security is very high), so it wasn't too bad....

We also had the event at the LV Motor Speedway, which was a 2.5 mile 'drive thru' event each year; it was decent when first opened, but turned into a bit of cluster as time went on...

Glittering Lights - Drive-Thru Christmas Light Experience At ...Glittering Lights

My favorite is an area of Rancho Pensaquitos (San Diego area) called Christmas Card Lane...

    https://www.instagram.com/christmascardlane/

... this is just about the right size. It's enough that you get a good feel for the display of holiday lights; a bit too packed to drive into, so now it's a walk through only I believe, which is fine... plus, we were always greeted by some awesome kids that would walk up and serve hot chocolate and cookies (free) and just a pretty decent atmosphere

We do that each year when vacationing during the holidays in SD :santa2:

    You just wait
I have been at my workplace for 9 years and I've only gone to one Christmas party, and it was terrible. The food that was supposed to be cold was warm and the food that was supposed to be warm was cold. Surrounded by people I don't really care all that much about to boot. Ironically that was last year and this year they decided instead of doing a singular party off-site, they were just going to do on-shift/on-site little party/meals instead which is a much better idea.

Never been a thing with my company. At least not for the past decade.

Monday I get the honor of my Chief coming down to my city (away from her throne) to attend a lunch I get to buy.

Last company I was at did Christmas parties. Lousy food, and a bunch of people I didn't care about. I drink, but don't get drunk so dealing with all the other drunken people sucked. I stopped going.

The last year I was there, the Christmas party was a shit show. People snuck their own booze in, drugs were done in the bathroom, a few couples were banging in back hallways, a few fistfights, some property damage and the company was banned from the venue. Good times, glad I missed it.

I have seen so many people get drunk and makes asses of themselves at company gatherings that it's not even funny. I don't even want to imagine the adultery or other inappropriate crap that probably went on. I make an appearance, never have booze and get out of dodge as quickly as I can and leave the bsing and shenanigans to everyone else.

I had some good times at my previous company's Christmas parties. There was a group of maybe a couple dozen of us who were all close in age and we closed it down a couple times.

Yeah, it feels like one of those situations. Think I am fasting on Monday.

You'd think, especially after the year we've had. But a few years ago my group of 4 (including me) reported to a 2nd level and he didn't pick up a group lunch at a restaurant that was $10-15/person. So the culture of "Fuck you; there's an email from me that say's 'thanks'" is in effect.

We were not even getting a lunch until my manager reminded the Mistress there are 8-10 people at the other facility...:facepalm:Honestly, I don't give a phuk about it; group gropes have never been my thing...but the younger generation does need this stuff and leadership isn't even trying to stay connected to them.

That rule was implemented where I worked before because of people cheating the system. A person and their manager or the whole team would go out for an expensive meal then one of the reports would pick up the tab and the manager would approve it.
