I 'updated' to IOS 18 on my 15 Pro and don't really see any difference..

 

Apple fanboi here. The MacOS, iOS, iPadOS, & WatchOS, have some of the best improvements, I've seen in years. Aside from the food-baby emoji... I mean... pregnant they/them? Whatever. That'll be a hard one to top.
Here's a few new items:
- Setting battery charge limits on iPhone and iPad (I keep mine at 80% for optimal battery health)
- Access your iPhone from a Mac
- SEND iMessage VIA SATELLITE! Suck it Garmin. (I dirt bike in remote locations so the option of being able to communicate is awesome)
- Arrange icons on iPhone to however the hell you want, plus being able to have hidden access to apps
- Check out the flashlight on the iPhone (iPhone 14 Pro and newer) - you can now adjust the beam width and brightness wherever you want. No more 4 bars of bullshit. Try it - when the flash light bubble pops up in the Dynamic Island, move your finger around above the flashlight symbol and it'll change both beam width and brightness.
- iMessage is more dynamic and allows you to alter the font (this is on top of the last updates' being able to unsend or edit a text).
- Message app provides for RCS protocol to eligible green bubble people. You can now have delivered/read receipts and supposedly send higher res photos to poor people as well (simmer green bubble people, it's a joke). The text box will say RCS if it's available with the recipient, otherwise it'll say SMS
- Add different shortcuts to Home Screen on iPhone and a plethora of options to add/change in Control Center for both iPhones and iPads.
- Photo album got shook up a bit. Not entirely sure how I feel about it, but you can arrange the layout to your liking, so that's kind of nice.
- You can adjust picture brightness of a HDMI driven screen from your Mac! On my primary Mac I have a 16" MBP M2 Max driving 2x 5K Apple Studio Displays and a 65" 4K Samsung TV... I can adjust the brightness of the TV to match that of the monitors. Super handy feature.

I received the new iPhone 16 Pro Max on Friday, and the camera button and new cameras are fantastic. Apple may not have the best cameras on a smartphone, but their image processing stomps the shit out of everything else. The camera button is capacitive touch, and can be used to zoom in/out as well as quickly scroll through photo settings. Very convenient.

 

How long has Android had these? More than 10 years?

I understand it better now.
But most of these videos are 30 and 45 minutes long, I'll fall asleep.

I'm not much into spending a lot of time setting up a phone, which is why I don't have an Android.
The phone is set up the way I need it to be.
I wouldn't mind having a page with nothing but work stuff on it, I may do that..
