    The only thing keeping me from putting it together is I'm waiting on the governor shaft seal. These vertical shaft engines, the governor shaft is near the waterline. If the seal is bad they leak real, real bad.

    It runs just fine, just uber incontinent.

    So, I snagged the following pic when I stopped for fuel on the run to Sean's. Towed at 65 MPH in tow mode so no cylinder deactivation. Full on V8 the whole time.

    That leg took 18.469 gallons. To test the dash I also did my own math.

    295 ÷ 18.469 = 15.97 MPG, so the dash lies by about 1 MPG. Unless we go super optimistic and say the dash's 295 mileage is actually 295.9. That would be 16.02 MPG, which still has the dash off by nearly a full MPG. About what I figure/expect.

    By comparison, both the Taco and Tundra rowed that trailer (empty or loaded) at 11 to 11.5 MPG.


    Also, I didn't record the miles after the full return trip, but I did note the MPG on the dash after 800+ miles was 17.7, so real mileage would be more like 16.5 towing.

    I can live with that, happily.
