I wouldn't get a track bike for a first one. Maybe a cruiser or adv bike would be my recommendation. What's your inseam? Some adv bikes are tall and picking the right one to get comfortable on is key to your success in growing comfortable with its capabilities.

I might have a little longer legs than you, but not by much. I'll say this, ignore the seat heights in the brochure for bikes. They mean nothing. Seat shape/width and the squish of the suspension play such huge roles that you can have a shorter seat height be harder to stand over than a taller one just based on shape and sag. Prime example is my Super Tenere vs an FJR1300. ST is an inch taller on paper, but I can comfortably be on the balls of my feet whereas the FJR had me on barely my tiptoes.

Kickass! In that time how big has the quality of life improvement been?

A 25% raise is bananas, that's like a promotion raise not just a cost of living adjustment. Also I have no clue as to that specific deal or what lead up to it, just saying in general. Gotta CMA

When it's normal inflation rate, sure, but with the last 4 years it's not a huge of a bump.

According to the radio ads I hear, every single Toyota dealership around here is "the biggest in the country" with the most Tundras.

@Blue Thunder raised a really good point on the Boeing stuff. Lots of the problems have to do with parts that fail after the plane is delivered, in service, and has had a few maintenance cycles.

For example, the wheels that have fallen off. If you are driving down the road and the wheel on your Tundra falls off, is that Toyota's fault or is it because whoever did the maintenance is retarded? The media does a good job of slanting stuff by blaming manufacturers for things that happen well outside the timeframe that it would be a design issue, and should be put on the airline for poor maintenance.

In 2000 Air Alaska had a plane flip upside down and crash in the Pacific when a stabilizer failed. That failure was because the maintenance was done poorly for YEARS. They didn't replace a jackscrew/acme nut and they didn't lube it properly either. It wasn't as mainstream and popular to blame the tool for the crime back then, so McDonnell Douglas was in the clear.

I think blaming Boeing for these things is on par with what sank Remington. They were sued because some psycho used their product to hurt people. How in TF is that Remington's fault? Same here. If that wheel or door isn't maintained and falls off, how is it Boeing's fault?

Whatever this forum told me to do

    Maybe.

the jackscrew is a bad example....that was a design flaw.

and to say it is everyone else's fault is suspicious to me. it defies logic.

and what company can raise wages by 25%? apparently only Gov back companies.

let's go ahead and give the space division a 50% raise....because.

That was NOT a design flaw. It worked perfectly fine. The only reason it failed was that it wasn't properly maintained and when it was noted as worn the airline chose not to replace it.

How does it defy logic to state that improper maintenance can cause issues?

The pay is a different issue entirely. Unions have long outlived their usefulness and are a net negative now.
