I used to religiously watch that show. Funny thing is, I don't recall much about the scenes with men wearing bikinis.

Maybe Siri is from CA? But the real Californians tend to drop the I when using this. The 5, the 10, the 15...

We've been binge watching it now a for week or so...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the whole FWY thing came about cuz they have so damn many FWYs, HWYs, Toll Ways, Add Ons, etc... folks had a hard time keeping track of I 10 vs. Hwy 60 vs. I 405, so everything just became 'the XXXX'

So you can binge watch a show watching men in bikinis but you can't see one pic of a man with a bruise on his ribs because you may catch a glimpse of his chest? :notsure:

This is the worst. Why does it happen so often is the question? When I don't have an early alarm, I sleep like a rock. When I do it's this.

Well, I fucked up gents. Last summer I leveled my truck and installed bilstein's 5100's using the second setting, which technically should have netted me 1.57" of lift. After it settled I'm at about 1.45" of lift. Within a few months I had noticed that my drivers cv axel had a torn boot. I couldn't find an oem axel quickly so I bought a duralast axel to replace it and used my oem for the core charge. This was my mistake. Just a few weeks ago I noticed my boot was torn again on the replaced duralast part. Just shy of 1 yr warranty I was able to warranty the part and replaced it again. Now the cv is throwing grease from the bottom where it appears the clamp around the boot is bad because neither boot is torn. Now with this being the 3rd cv axel in a years time and roughly 12k mileage I'm saddened by my initial mistake. Still unable to source a remaned oem axel I'm at a loss of what to do. Throw some criticism and ideas at me because I'm not sure I want another dura-don't-last cv axel and am debating on the extended travel axel from Napa? I know my lift isn't excessive at all but would an extended travel cv axel help resolve my eating of boots and clamps? Is there another route problem I'm overlooking? Any help or input from y'all is appreciated.

edit: I'll probably also post this in the 2nd gen thread to get some traction on ideas.

See if you can pick up two old OEM axles from ebay and use then for cores at CVJ. They reman OEM axles and add different boots and that are meant for lifted trucks. Certainly not the cheapest option, but it might be worth it if you're already having problems. https://www.cvjreman.com/product-tag/95501/

    I called a friend…his question for you

“What’s his actual ride height though - Center hub // edge of fender.
Normally on 2nd gen tundras I’ve never really seen an issue with the CV boots and such unless it’s over lifted and// or they are just old // a lot of miles on them (OEM axles).
The aftermarket brands aren’t terrible with their boots and such but definitely not as good as quality as an OEM axle would be. (IMO).
Diff drop can help with the angles a little bit to help clear the boot issues.”

great option but as for today I need to get back rolling so I've warrantied the part again to get rolling. I'll look into this as an option in prep for the next failure...

I'll have to measure ride height again to answer the question. The mileage on the truck when I installed the bilsteins mileage was 67k, oem failed at 68k, replaced duralast axel failed at 78k just shy of 1year to that then replaced and failed again at 78.5k under 2 weeks. Not a torn boot though, failure came through the clamp at of the end of the cv axel where it to bolts to the wheel. Even though I've only lifted it 1.5" maybe a diff drop and heavy duty boots on oem axels is the long term solution.

    Thanks for posting thoughtful solutions.
