The first truck should be simple to fix but why it is like that is obviously your concern. There are two black rubber bumpers on the outside corners of the hood on the radiator support. Simple to screw them up/down to adjust the gap. There are also folks that don’t know what they are and they ‘fuddle’ with them and don’t notice the change when the hood closes

I don't think the gaps at the top are from the hood, but rather the grille. Its off kilter at the bottom as well. Makes me wonder if they hit a dear, or if previous owner had a different grille and broke this one when swapping back.

they give you a container of a sweet sauce on the side and you can order chilli sauce on the side and add to taste. not spicy.

Since you're not hauling kids around I'd go for a DC if you can find one.
That bigger bed comes in more handy than a bigger back seat that no one will be sitting in.
