I need to detail and apply a boost to the one I did a few months ago. It’s going to be over 100*..this will suck.
Pix of before and after the paint correction and ceramic I applied to it a few months ago

Honestly, if it didn’t sit there and collect dust and use up so much of my 3 car, I would have kept it. I think I had around 40k on it. Bought it for 47, and I think I sold it for 40 or so after 5 years …95% of everything on it was sponsored so it didn’t cost me a dime

Also…I always go back and debate it but the wife is due for a car soon, so I need to let it be. Besides, I should have a new (to me) company PIUV again…I only have so much space!

I get that. I don't fault anyone for their vehicle decisions. It's very personal and we all have our reasons. About the mods... Shiiiiiiit. That's awesome! I wish I could get mods sponsored! LOL

I wish! First races I went to I was in my mom's belly and then after I was born she put cotton in my ears and took me to them. There were some years when I was younger I didn't go due to life things but otherwise I've been going for quite some time.
That is a nice truck, can't deny that. Would have looked better in a nicer color though

I think the only thing I paid for was the grill, bumper and lights..….but I only paid cost for those. I still have my connection (per contract sale of their business) there should I ever go back…I did let them align the Tesla last month at cost too :fistbump::thumbsup:

It took me a lot of work of promoting myself and what I can do (and did) for them to drive sales and I made myself valuable in the off times to them and others.

Company vehicle can live on the street. My garage would be just for my stuff. I've lost the ability to give a crap for a company.

I kept it inside since I corrected the paint on that too and kept it nice and clean. I believe I put in 12 hours of perfecting that one.

Decided that’s going to be next Spring’s task. No time to dig into it this year. Actually got up early this morning and got a coat of the 3:1 applied. 2nd coat is tomorrow morning and then I can not worry about the paint…

Think Chevy contracts out the paint to Toyota. Or maybe it’s the other way around. A few blems I need to fix

when I was shopping for trucks after totalling the van, the Cavalry blue really grew on me. I wanted a 4x4 CB dclb. I found one. it was listed for a few days and when I called on it, they were in the middle of selling it.
A low mile 2.5 gen DCLB is pretty much a unicorn. I found 5 worth looking at in a month of searching. from Jersey to Florida to Idaho.
either too much $ or sold before they could vacuum the rugs.
I settled on the current truck. white, 2wd base model.
the silver lining is, it was from VA and it's white and had tinted windows.
I might be moving to AL soon and a white 2wd with tinted windows will work. it would also work in AZ, which is another place I've want to move to for 20+ yrs, but the kids are in AL for the time being, so AL it is.
long story longer......white is not my first pick either. but when life gives you lemonade,.....drink it.

Sounds like it worked out pretty well for you. That's a good thing. I honestly am having a harder time finding a Crewmax than a DC..... I just don't like the rear doors and I remember loving the roll down rear window.

the CM is amazing. my first tundra was a 2011 CM. great for kids, dogs, gear, the back seats had more room than the front, the bed was 7' with the tailgate down, towed with it, kept my tools under a tonneau, it was freaking awesome. and the rear window deal was cool.
next 2 were DCLB. there's still plenty of room in the rear seat area. it's not squished like a lot of the old-school ext cabs. if you can get passed the weird door handles, it's fine. and the rear window is cool, but I don't miss it.
and if you can build/buy a ramp system, you won't even need a trailer with the longer bed.

I have no clue what you're talking about. You sound like a 3rd gen owner making blanket statements over a color. My white 06 is still going strong (sold it to a friend) 360k on it now. Where is all this data that supports such a theory that white ones are doomed to problems.

Not doomed, because it's not all of them. They are prone to it, though. Toyota acknowledges the issue and has/had a campaign to repair them.

My RTT and bed rack live on the truck, so a ramp is a no go. It'd be a no go with the bike I have anyway. Just too heavy and I'm too short to want to risk that.

My paint is gettin a bit rough in spots. A few paint chips on the hood and front. I should probably read the detailing forum instead of ask you, but what do you do for paint chips and protection?

My goal would be to fix the paint where it’s chipped/scratched and then protect it.
