    Yeah, the storm still has stuff effed up. One of our major backup links to the rest of the world routes through texas and florida and it's been dead for a while. The other company has been working to restore stuff for 2 days. I feel bad for their techs.

    Heavily considering it. I do love my Taco, though. If I could get the right deal I think I'd do it, though. I just cringe at the thought of buying used. I have horrendous luck with used vehicles. I've never had a single used rig that didn't turn into a big friggin' headache, but I've never bought a used Toyota either.

    If there is one to buy used, it’s the v8 Tundra IMO.

    I get it, man. Towing into a Wyoming headwind with the Taco probably wouldn’t be my favorite thing.

    They call me that too, and I'm good with it, although this reminds me of a little story of bad karma.

    I was on my way to work on the highway, 2 lanes each way, speed limit 70.
    This newer calvary blue Tacoma gets on my ass so I move over to the right lane, give him a wave (just a wave not a finger), and let him pass.
    He passes me, gets back in front of me, and slows to 45 with a brake check, so I pass him again.
    He does this 6 or 7 times in a span of 10 miles so I finally get behind him and slow down to distance myself from him.
    He was so focused on me in his rearview mirror that he didn't see a car in front of him merging onto the highway and rear-ended it.
    I felt bad for the lady he hit, but there was some satisfaction in him needlessly wrecking his new Tacoma because he was driving like a dick.

    I'm poking some dealerships about the trucks they have. So far it's been a generic auto response, a reply that the advertised price is the best price plus a fee that puts the truck over 50K, and one asshat getting shitty that I am contacting from out of state without giving them a phone number. That guy is getting a response clarifying that I'm a legit potential customer, I still want to know the best OTD price, but tagging his director and the general manager asking to deal with somebody who can behave professionally. I kinda hope they have a good price because I'd love to go down to buy it and tell them to yank the douchebag's leash.

    my grandfather taught me long ago. When negotiating with car dealers always do it in the last few days of month. Sales managers are usually willing to negotiate sales to get their numbers at the months end. I actually enjoy the negotiating process. But again, see my post above...:anonymous:
