Find a hotel right off I-15 on either side of Vegas, don't even venture towards the strip

 

That's kinda the plan. What about a hotel near the airport, or is that a worse area for scumbag activities?

 

Oh, maybe the M Resort and Spa one. Shows cheap as heck on google and it's toward the southern end of town. Make it easier to get out in the morning.

 

Mesquite. Cheaper hotels and not on the strip.

Yes, but also not as far into the run. If the hotels in Primm weren't so dumpy that'd be the place. Want to be closer to the destination than Mesquite.

 

For sure. I'd stick with what @NWPirate said if that's the case.

 

I can find examples of both that are good and bad.

Any reputable chain in the outskirts will be fine. Look in Henderson, or somewhere on the south side if you’re continuing on 15 in the morning

 

Stop in Mesquite and stay at the Virgin River. It is an old apartment complex transformed into a "hotel" - very very basic but depending on the day of the week only $20-30 per night last time I checked but that was pre-Covid.

 

Except that mask would not be worn by the thugs. Not unironically at least.
