Best place to start is stretching. Things you wouldn't expect to cause back problems have tons to do with back problems. I can't sit on my heels because my thighs are too tight. I can barely touch my knees with my legs straight (everyone on the planet should be able to touch their toes with their legs straight - I mean, as long as they have toes). Hip mobility depends on leg mobility, and proper back movement depends on hip mobility... The long and short of mobility is it's an all or nothing situation. I'm working on it, and getting better; but I have a long way to go. Next up are core exercises. Planks are awesome for someone who has an underdeveloped core. There's a ton of traditional PT training on mobility and core strengthening on YT, along with plenty of free pilates and yoga training. It's just getting motivated to get out of the chair and onto the floor that's preventing it.

I had neglected my general health for a long time, and it's not any fun getting back in shape. Tight muscles that are also weak are not a good condition to walk into my 60's with. My son is a personal trainer and used to be an exercise physiologist. He just snickers at me because it's not as much about finding the perfect thing to do as doing something, and he knows I'm not very motivated. But having to stay in bed because my back is in too much pain to move is pretty motivating.

Yup. I just have to find the motivation. I like sleep a lot, and so getting up earlier to squeeze it in before work is something I naturally rebel against. As a teacher once told me "nothing changes if nothing changes" so I just need to do it.

This definitely true where we live. Every landscaping contractor, or really anyone doing anything outside, wears hi-vis yellow or orange.

I TOTALLY agree!!! FUCK THIS MONDAY!

My wife had some new apprentices that were starting and she had to drive downtown for their Orientation (she hired them) and when she got back she came in to kiss and check on me and she said I had dried blood on my neck. When I looked at it it was all dry and nothing wet so whatever happened was a while ago. Well she takes a picture of it like we have everyday (except busy Sunday) and she sent it to the Surgeon. They called and asked some questions and said the surgeon recommended coming in Tuesday or go to the ER. I said we would be in Tuesday but my wife told her it has gotten worse since the picture she took. I spent 5 hours in the busiest ER probably in Chandler.

In the end the plastic skin had come off the 2 ends of the wound and seeped a bit so they cleaned it reapplied skin and gave me antibiotics and sent me home. I think my hair on my neck that is growing most likely compromised the bond and it opened. Could have waited but I learned a lot more about the collar I am wearing and made it much more comfortable and I got some SLEEP LAST NIGHT!!!

I know… TL;DR so “paranoid wife and Doctors drug me in for 5 hours of an ER visit for a minor clean up that could have waited until today”.

Sorry Brother but at least you have the cause of pain now for the repair. Good news is it is only 2 discs and they are adjacent. These can be fused with minimal impact on flexibility. Actually that is in the cervical area, not sure about the lumbar.

Better safe than sorry, and now you have the story to tell! Don't let this lull you into putting off anything else that might be an issue, though. Don't want to miss something that is actually an issue thinking it's minor, right? Besides, now you know the wife isn't trying to off you for life insurance. :D

I was the same way when I started but I used inversion boots (homemade in the garage) when I was a teenager playing football. Most of it is blood pressure because most freak out and then try find how to come back up but be calm and don’t stay inverted very long and gradually increase the time. It becomes second nature.

Yeah, it's really low lumbar so if it gets to that point, shouldn't impact mobility a lot.

I have to walk slow b/c it feels like my legs haven’t finished their start-up process yet. Balance is slightly off and the legs are a bit rubbery.

I wish the lastest Tundra design was just a larger version of the new Taco.
In many ways it is, but the Taco front end is much nicer than the Tundra's.
Yeah, ugly front end and no V8.
And for those reasons,..... I'm out.

Also, when I was picking up the 2021 last year, there was a 2023 CM 1794 on the floor.
    $65k.
Not sure how/why I'd pay that for a Taco a year later.

That is absolutely insane. The Pro starts a full 12K more than the 3rd gen Pro with some options on it. Hell, an optioned TRD Off road in the 4th gen will cost more than my Pro did. So glad I got what I did, but now I'm worried I'll have some idiot mess it up for me by hitting it and forcing me to get a replacement.

Irony in this is that when our kids are teens they won't listen to us. Then as we all grow we won't listen to them...

In life we take care of a lot of things, our body's should always be one the the top priorities. As I age into my fifties I'm not okay with slowing down and not being able to do the things I love; hike, snowboard, row a raft, sleep on the ground, ww kayak, mtn bike... It's the want of being able to do these things that keeps me motivated to wake up, stretch and do some basic training at home to stay in shape.

Did you scroll down and see the starting prices for competitor trucks? They are so far off base when compared to anything else in the list.

I can't really complain though, because the I won't touch a hybrid in a truck. Hell, I don't want one in a car, so it doesn't really impact me personally.

I'd have to check out the Ranger Raptor or the Nissan Frontier if I were to suddenly need a new truck. No interest in any of that, though.

I do direct ab work 3-4x a week. I do need to stretch more, but I’ll also add in some full stretch holds at times to open things up
