Yeah, I'm still crawling out of my head cold. This one is pretty rude...and also my second cold in about 4 weeks.

 

It is becoming very evident that I will be doing all the trip planning when the wife and I are retired. She's coming along on my next business trip and has been completely unable to even compile a list of things she wants to do. Countless hours on her phone researching and zero details to share. We'll have one full today together before my meetings start and she just asked me "What do you want to do?

Well dear, for the 4th time at least I'd like to do something that you are interested in. And if you want me to make a decision, then I need a list of things you want do. Cuz if I'm doing the planning you don't get a vote. Analysis paralysis...

 

My body is in worse shape after 3 years in the office than it was after 12+ years welding. Back and eyes especially. Sitting all day = death. lack of sunlight = death. Staring at computer screens = blindness. I have to be super strict with what I eat and ensure I work out or else it'll get horrible. I'm lucky I get to spend 30 - 40% of my time walking around site. I'm also convinced endless emailing, meetings and desk work is horrible for our mental health too. I can't imagine having a 100% desk job.

 

I never wanted a desk job and that’s exactly what I have. Funny how life works. I used to be able to walk around the factory and miss doing that on the regular.
