I wasn't tracking that thread, but now I'll have to. I was struggling last year in my Journey 1.0 attempt. I could drink like a fish and maintain. Eat a healthy meal and appropriate portion? Nope. Immediately up in weight. Stop eating, back down to my "drinking weight". We've all seen the fads, heard the talks, remember the pyramid and exercise counts being drilled into our heads. Nobody knows your body, your means, your lifestyle like you. Find your headspace and look for small wins along the way.

 

Yup. Health is a very individual thing. We all have to find what works for us.

 

This is not a political story, so please don't have that lens on when reading it. Except for the fact one of our major roadways has holes in the roads, on bridges, I'm still trying to wrap my cranium around this entire entire thing. "Really?" is all that keep coming to mind. What small talk does one make? "Nice jewelry. That designer or something?"

They are pretty good for an Oreo

 

I have not. I like the oreo thins and the peanut butter ones, but have had to give all that sugary goodness up. I have no self control when it's cookies and such.

 

Last year some time, someone with a tall load on a trailer (I think it might have been an excavator) drove into an overpass where two of our busiest freeways intersect. I think it might have been a Wednesday or Thursday so they "temporarily" closed one of the two eastbound lanes on the overpass until they could get an engineer out to inspect it "the next week". I'm not even sure how many months later and all they've done there is replace the pylons with a permanent barricade and put up some signs letting folks know they have to merge and slow down ahead.

 

Are the Oreo crystals as addicting as the Street crystal?

Yeesh.

Those exact videos have been circulating since MMA vids started getting posted on the internet. Pretty sure one of those was among the first online videos I watch. I still cringe.

 

Yup. Those and the weightlifting ones where their knees bend the wrong way. So hard to watch. Can't do it.

 

Showed that one to my wife and she laughed until she fell on the floor.

 

I'm the same way, I can handle a lot of shit but I instinctively turn away with those injuries. Assuming his leg snapped like a toothpick, cuz I didn't watch it.

 

Any of those fail videos I don't care to see. It's kind of stupid to revel in others' pain. And a lot of them could have been me at a younger age.

 

He throws a kick that is blocked and snaps his lower leg. That's not the bad part.

He doesn't know it's broken and tries to stand on it.
