It cost me about around $160CAD or roughly $120 USD to fill my truck on average.

Can you lend me $42K plus the cost of the home charger? I'll also need a subsidy to pay my increased electric bill. Oh, and can you pick me up and drive me the 250km to work when it's -40 out and the EV range is ruined?

There's also very few chargers in my area. The few that are around seem to charge about $20/hour.

Hard no on the EV for me. I'll drive my paid for, gas sipping Corolla when I want to save the planet.

Last weekend I was at the border and the local gas stations list the price per liter…was something like $0.92/ltr.

Same thing here. We have a mandate for offsets to be purchased to produce gasoline and diesel. The state holds auctions a few times a year. Last year the state got over a billion dollars from the auctions and the cost got passed on to the consumer. Don’t think a single pound of carbon was removed but the <insert your own choice names here > got paid!
