Nah, man. You can bitch on here. With friends happiness is multiplied and misery is divided.

I get not wanting to bring things down, but don't feel like you can't vent.

I love you guys for that, but I'd have to write a trilogy.
If I just talked about the facebook bullet points of my life, people would think my life was amazing and I'd sound like a braggy douche.
But I don't bother because that shit ain't real.
Every bit of it is a fuckin mess.
    Real shit bullet points:
My job has amazing health benefits and PTO,....but day to day ops and personnel are about as dysfunctional as you can imagine. Actually, it would be hard to imagine unless I told the 20 yr story and even then, half of it would be hard to believe. It would require one of the 3 novels. But, I'm stuck there at the moment.
Been with the wife 9 yrs now and we almost got divorced 2 months ago. She doesn't want a divorce and neither do I. Making it work is a work in progress.
And my health (neck and GI issues) are progressively getting worse, making everything else harder to deal with.
    Too much to list.
All I know is that after the life I've lived and shit I've been through,.....if I can make it out of this shit hole without murdering anyone, I want a fuckin bronze statue of me put up some fuckin where.

When I used to travel with my previous company, we just put everything on our corporate credit cards and it was almost the opposite. You were practically expected to splurge. Our boss told one of my coworkers that he'd fire him if he put McDonald's on the corporate card again.

Definitely a rough go by the sounds of it. We are here man. Take it to PMs if you'd like, but don't bottle it up.
Let us know if you want to vent, or if you want us to try and offer up suggestions. I know that when people just need to get it off their chest it can come off as downplaying it if "solutions" are offered.

If you're going to murder somebody, make sure they're a pedophile. You might get a statue anyway in that case!

Get ur health in check. I’m sure your wife wants to see you well. The marriage can be worked on and fixed if both truly want it still. She’s probably been ur rock and stone this entire time with everything life has thrown at you. Be there for her the same she has been for you.
In early 2020, my life was a living fucking hell when Covid began. Lost my job, went to the bottle, argued with the wife so much, we started the divorce process. I went into a very, very deep hole. I reached out to a friend and I’ll always be in debt to her for the remainder of my life for helping me through that moment. Life felt like it wasn’t going to get better and I didn’t care any longer. All fucks were gone.
Fortunately, life turned around, we fixed things, and we’ve been great (20 years this April) as my career has.
Chin up. The sun still rises the next day.

Edit: 19 years this April. Apparently I cannot count, or lost count.

Glad to hear it's still treating you well. How many miles you have on it now? Any mods? Most importantly, any pics?

As for me, workin', bitchin' about workin', bummin' around on the forum, bitchin' about the weather, window shopping for the next motorcycle because I'm dumb and can't just be happy with what I've got. The usual, you know? :D

Does the Great White North allow businesses to write off stuff like that as business expenses and get a tax break?

    Long story, but,.....
She's a good person and wife, but lost herself for almost 2 yrs.
At the expense of sounding like a self-righteous douche, I've been her rock since we met. Things went south with the new house build and my health fell off a cliff shortly after, plus, shit changed drastically at work and became extremely stressful for me right around the same time as everything else. She took it all as me not caring anymore. So, she just started hanging with her daughter all the time, compulsively shopping/wasting money we didn't have, vacations, concerts, cramming our shitty little house with shit we don't need, making it more messy and impossible to remodel,...basically trying to be 25 again and left me to rot. Both our checks are deposited into a single bank account and I've trusted her to be in charge of all the finances.
I told her I was done.
She had a breakdown and said she was sorry for being a shitty wife/person the last few years. She's been dealing with menopause the last few yrs on top of everything else.
We've both been dealing with shit, but went in opposite directions in dealing with it. I'm not the easiest person to read or deal with, but I owned up to all my shit. She was avoiding dealing with anything and making it all worse with her actions.
We fought/talked it out and in a better spot at the moment. The current issue is I have no energy or motivation now and still a huge mountain to climb.
Also, an apology without action is just manipulation. So, one day at a time. The only reason I believe her is because she would be in much better shape than me if we split up. She makes more money, wouldn't have any trouble finding someone else, would keep the house and would have a ton of money from selling the other one. So, for some strange reason, she must actually not want a divorce.
New plan: (since she's been blowing money for 2 yrs and not putting it aside to finish the new house)
I'm gonna start the process of seeing doctors and find out what's wrong.
If it's nothing serious, we'll move to the new house, finish it and live there.
If they find anything serious or life altering, we'll sell the new house and go from there.
Just being practical. If there's a scenario where I won't be around or not in good enough shape to take care of a large rural property that's 45 min away from everything, she wouldn't want to be there alone and I wouldn't want her to be either.

Sounds like the first steps in the right direction. That's good. If you can help it, don't look at the mountain. Just the next 10 yards. The mountain will sort itself out as you go.

Easy to say, I know. Especially when we all know what the hardest step to take is... the next one. It's never easier, and anyone saying it'll get easier isn't being honest. It's hard, the whole way, but we keep taking that next step because quitting isn't an option.

Sounds like some decluttering/yard sales would be good, too.

Hoping the Docs give you a clean bill of health or find some little stuff to tune up and get you feeling better. Not sure if your at the age that testosterone starts to dip, but the fatigue sounds about right.

When was the last time you two took a vacation together? Something stress free and just got to not worry about "the mountain" for a while? Is it something that could be squeezed in to give you some time to decompress and reconnect?

Again, if you just want to vent and don't want suggestions, just tell me to shut up.

    It's all good.
I'm the type that has a hard time taking time out for fun when there's a million things to do still. I want all the work done, or at least get to a milestone before rewarding with a break for fun. I actually have pretty bad anxiety when things are a mess and I'm off somewhere fucking off.
She's the opposite. When things are a mess, she wants to run off, have fun and avoid dealing with it.
I told her we can meet in the middle.
However, we agreed that she's spent so much money and had so much fun the last few years (put us waaaayyyy further in the hole) that it's gonna be a while before we spend money on anything like a Vaca.
But yeah, once things get to a certain point, we will definitely do something fun.

That shit's rough dude. See if you can find a good doctor to help with the hormone stuff. Once you get past that it's back to her old stuff, at least for me it was. Good luck.

Yeah, crazy shit for sure. Can't imagine what it was like. A big problem is she wasn't talking to me and telling me what she was dealing with. She held it all in and just dealt with it by doing really dumb shit.
Good thing is she has a doc that specializes in that stuff and they have everything pretty levelled out now.
I honestly think that if there hasn't been a murder/suicide by this point, we're pretty much out of the woods.

I'm glad you're able to give him a loving home. Dogs are the greatest. I hope that he's been a comfort to you after the loss as well. Still can't imagine what that's like.

    Thank you .
That afternoon when we got the call about my son my wife had heart failure so she was in the hospital for a bit . I was back and forth to the hospital and home since I have 2 other children and wanted to make sure they were ok .
Everyone is doing better now that we can talk about him and at least smile at some memories .

I went through a little bit of a scare when I had absolutely no energy and lost 30 lbs in a month .
Doctors thought it was cancer but it turned out to be a problem with my thyroid . Working on getting that back on track . It’ll be nice to be able to wash and wax my vehicles again .
