I am right at max capacity too. Keep holding out that Toyota will make a HD version of the Tundra. A beefed up frame and suspension capable of another 700-1,000lbs of cargo capacity and geared lower for towing would be perfect.

Pigs will fly before that happens…

$80k to get what I want but yeah, I get your meaning. That was a $60k truck a couple years ago.

After seeing my insurance rates increase recently, new truck costs are only one component of an overall affordability issue.

If I ever have a 'next Tundra', it'll have to be the next gen. I have to be a hater on the 3rd-gen looks. My son got a 22 Trail Boss. I know it's a Government Motors product, and probably as reliable as having a crack whore for a wife - and no, I wouldn't own one; but it's good looking and well appointed. Don't ban me bro.

Chevy gets the exterior designs right a lot of times, but I've never been able to get comfortable in their trucks. My back is f#*$ed if I ride in one for more than about an hour and a half. I also have hated their interior plastics and the layout is usually crap. If the interior were better I may have wound up in a Colorado ZR2 instead of a Tundra a few years back.

I'll report back on those topics on the next trip to my uncle's ranch if he drives. It's a 4 hour trip. Just sitting in the drive's seat while he was showing it off the other day, it was fairly comfy. I'll stay biased toward my Tundra seat with seat jackers, though.

Oh, this is totally a me issue. A buddy had a 2019 or 2020 Trail Boss and he had no issues. It's just by specific situation that makes me hate their trucks. Most people think they are fine.

Bucket seats and full center console are non-negotiable for me. That puts me into an SLT at minimum from what I can tell. At which point I may as well spring an extra couple grand for the AT4.

I'll be sticking to the half ton world for now.

Nice to find a fellow fan of the center console/shifter and bucket seats. So many want a bench with a column shifter, and it's always so their "girl" can sit closer. Middle seat isn't safe, that's why it is being phased out. If you love your "girl" put her in the safe seat and deal with not having her right by you for a drive.

I had the flip up console crap in my F1-Shitty. We tried the whole being romantic thing with The Woman in the center. It was comfortable for neither of us. I really don't get the attraction of them. Plus a full center console is way more useful, with more storage and makes a way better armrest.

I can see the safety thing too, though I never really thought about it.

If it's any consolation, my cousin only kept his Duramax Colorado for a couple years then the transmission problems caused him to dump it for a Ridgeline.

I was looking at the Silverado, for which it looks like bucket seats are a ~$700 option in the LT.

Well, I suppose I should take advantage of the warm weather. Toss in some new fog lights and the bed tie downs that I got from secret Santa. Truck is super ultra mega filthy and it's also wet out so I'm thinking bump stops will be another day

My next truck will either be the CT or Chevy 2500 (gasoline). I do not have the faith in the new Tundras

I honestly hope that the Taco is my last truck. I would like to be more minimalist, which a small truck is good for, and just not having a payment would be nice. The only thing I see moving me out of it is an accident or if some crazy person wants to pay me what I bought it for and there is another viable option available for the same price or less.
