Same. I have 4 alarms set because I easily miss/snooze/turn off at least 3.

 

You will go far with that attitude. But you'll be really tired when you get there.

 

That attitude saved my bacon actually. A while back we had some shitty attitudes in my department, and one was trying to be vindictive and stir shit. They went to HR and made accusations that the department was claiming hours we didn't work and that the boss was signing off on it. It was complete horseshit, but HR had to investigate. They reviewed the cameras to check against timesheets, and there was nothing wrong. They actually advised my supervisor that some people were working more hours than they claimed and they should be putting that time in so they get paid. Totally backfired on the shit stirrer.

 

I've got 2 set and rarely need the backup!

 

Weather is flipping back to our normal tonight... it's suppose to hit 50 in a couple of hours and then we'll have a low of 48 overnight and highs back in the mid 50s tomorrow; followed by the same for the next several days

It just amazes me how in most areas any weather that's outside of the norm sends a lot of folks into a tailspin.

We are not the most weather savvy people, but we've got contingencies in place for loss of power, water, etc... So, when something comes up, we assess and stage our back-up plans while maintaining a normal routine as much as possible

I'm sure there's events or situations that could/would become overwhelming or force us to burn through resources, but certainly not a short cold front or a couple of days w/o power...

I will say that not having internet for a few days definitely throws a wrench in the flow of normalcy

Wife's parents were w/us last night so they could get warm showers and such....

after they went to bed, I told the wife 'hey, I'm going to need you to do A, B and C for me'

She says, 'that's a strange request'

My response, 'what do you expect... the internet is down. Now get to it '

Always good to be prepared for what you can be. No plan is perfect, but something is better than nothing!

I get used to seeing certain folks in here, and when the active regulars disappear I wonder where they've went. Usually try to tag them when that happens, and most pop back up and re-engage. Except @Taco-Spike . He abandoned us.

 

Isn't that a bit expensive to leave laying around anyway?

 

It got all the way up to 0F here yesterday and I was too hot while shoveling the driveway.

 

Would you really steal something off the desk that has ammo in plain view?

 

Yup. if it's over 25°-30° F my fat ass can overheat shoveling snow, too. It's weird getting hot while it's still technically freezing outside.

 

It's already been purchased. I don't have to purchase it again if I leave it on my desk. I did save some time, though, by not putting it up; and time is money, so I guess I'm saving money by leaving it on my desk.

 

Slackers! Up at 4:30, got a short workout in, got ready for work, shoveled the driveway, and still to work by 6. Get up and get after it!
