Happy Thanksgiving Guys! Down in Boise with the Fam for the week. Actually got a few PM items and things installed on the Tundra yesterday when I could put the truck on Dads lift.

Have an awesome day and fill your bellies! Today is my day to fill up more than normal!

Ok, gents. Which one do I get to add to the collection? I can only choose one per the wife (we have to find a nice snow blower and that’ll run 800+)

The answer depends on if you already have a drill or not. If you already own a drill then I would say the ratchet but if you don't own a drill then I would say the drill and driver kit

I own their drill too, not their driver. I have their impact for deep torque too

    NEITHER.

    Get this one... >

I own, well, all of them. The ratchet is good; the impact/drill kit is fine for home owner use, but I find that impact to be kinda of clunky. I MUCH prefer the Surge driver to most any impact driver. I don't think I've even used my impact driver since they introduced the Surge. Heck, I'd prolly sell you one on the cheap if you really wanted an impact. I must have a half dozen of the Surge drivers. They are THE BEST. Unless you are knocking off lugs, but none of the tools you listed will do that.

It also comes with their new, higher capacity/discharge, more robust M12 battery.

Ratchet! I’ve had the M12 drill and wore it out in about 2 years and have now upgraded to the M18 drill. I don’t think I’ll mess with the M12 stuff much anymore but for light duty stuff the ratchet should work great.

    Ha.

The surge stuff is a little different - no hammer and anvil like a regular impact (all of the mid torque and up stuff are hammer and anvil). Instead, they use a hydraulic circuit so it’s much quieter and the torque delivery is different. It’s not a singular impulse from the hammer/anvil interaction; it delivers smoother power over a longer period of time. I don’t need ear pro for the surge stuff like I want to wear for the impacts.

That one’s way better than the first kit. Pro use or not, you would notice a difference :)
