    Been here 9 years and we're on our 2nd fridge, 3rd dishwasher, and 2nd A/C system.

    Neighbor next door to my dad when I was growing up had the same A/C system for 25 years. Seems everything is disposable anymore.

    Our last house was around 10 years old. I put in a new dishwasher, 2 different microwaves, fridge, water heater, and a new AC unit as they all began to shit out. The only thing I hired for was the AC unit - even then, it was via a friend and I traded some ammo to lower the hit lol

    My parents bought an LG fridge about 20 years ago because it was the only one on the market at the time not made by Amana. Back then, those ones had lousy compressors that would die shortly after you bought the fridge so they were on back order everywhere and you had to go for weeks or months without a fridge while you were waiting for a compressor.

    I got a new garage door out of the hail storm, and it has a better seal on the bottom than the old one did. I got some stainless steel wool to stuff in the cracks a rodent could use for entry. Hopefully that'll solve that problem for me.

    Honestly, that's my problem. I've redone the bottom seal, but my door is the original 1978 one from when the house was built. To do it properly I need to grind the concrete where it has risen at the middle (tree roots?) and replace the worn out wood mounting points on the sides (brick house). I just don't have the thousands of $$ that would take right now.
