We’ve sorta run out of places to eat around work, so I stick to the go to spots that never let down. We know most of the places and their wait times; specifically on fridays, so we try and decide based on how long we actually want/can be there. We went to brother John’s BBQ a month back and was soooo disappointed, it was fish Friday, no fish…. No pork belly, they had a list on the back wall 10 deep! I asked, what do you have? It was so bizzar, and took 1.5 to get out of there, like wtf! There’s a killer taco truck at cherry and Broadway, it will not disappoint!

 

I do leftovers often, but some nights the boys eat all the grilled chicken. Like animals!!! Momma bear was like I might need to get bigger packs of chicken……..

 

But we usually do lunch out on Friday, regardless, we earned it hahah
But every other day is usually at the shop.
Can you leave for lunch? On fridays check out kiss of smoke, in the hood by TUSD yards, but it’s ribs Friday, and not a bad deal on a rack, all their other stuff is awesome too! So i usually get a rack and a side, eat a few at lunch, and take the rest home for dinner

I've been taking the same lunch/sandwiches to work for the last 8+ years.
About once a month my wife asks, aren't you sick of eating the same thing yet? Nope.
When I'm working, I eat to get rid of the hungry feeling. It could be sawdust with ranch dressing for all I care. There are very few things I eat strictly for pleasure.
Bangkok pasta from Jasmine is one. I get that once/twice a year.
It's a large helping. I don't/won't share, even if you were dying of starvation in front of me. It's 2+ helpings and sometimes I keep eating until it hurts.

That taco truck makes a bomb one!!! And it comes with a cheese stuffed pepper wrapped in bacon for 4 dollars!

 

Oh yeah. We had a place here called 619 Cantina. They served something very similar. Delicious.

We had a little food truck just south of us that dig what they called a 'chubby dog'...

Hot dog (decent beef dog) wrapped in bacon then deep fried (no batter); placed in a lightly grilled bun w/mayo, onions (cheese if you like) (ketchup if you like) and a tomato

This thread is difficult for me to keep up - I miss ten pages at a time. However, I see we are still talking food. All of you must watch the new 2023 Netflix documentary "Poisoned: The Dirty Truth About Your Food" then determine how your food habits change. Salmonella eggs or E-coli burgers for us all. Fascinating - produced in part by Jeff Benedict and based in part on his book (former Sports Illustrated writer who wrote the books on LeBron and Tiger as well as The System about college football).

 

Not a documentary fan. Generally opinion pieces with cherry picked stuff or stats manipulated for the POV of the documentary maker. Always sus.

 

Understood but Benedict has a very good track record and most everything in this documentary is well supported and has been in the news. Watch it and tell me what you think.
