Couldn’t sleep. In bed at midnight, up by 6. I’m not sure if anyone here enjoys leadership books, but this is a simple, and good read.

I'm a firm believer that leadership is something that people are born with and it can't be learned from a book or a class.
You have to already be made from the right kind of steel and it's honed through life experiences.
A good example is where I currently work. There's a guy who's been to every class, read every book, been to every seminar, training, etc.
He just doesn't have an ounce of leadership or management abilities in his blood.
Not knocking the book. It might be good.

I don’t think it’s that. I was a horrible manager in early my 20’s. Was losing all of great employees. I began taking leadership classes, reading books, and practicing it. I haven’t lost a great employee since. What I would say is you either get it, or you don’t. Similar to business- some get it, some do not and that’s ok too.

If McDs and BK are across the street an my only choices, BK every time.

That said, I almost always order a crispy chicken sandwich, but a BK burger is 10x better than a McDs burger.

I agree on the 5Gs burgers though. 100x better than any drive through burgers around here.

Sonics, A&W, CarlsJr and In&Out more or less don't exist on the east coast.

This. I agree that there is something people are born with, but I believe it is humility and charisma, not so much leadership.

I've been on the journey of transitioning from SME to management and leadership for the last 10'ish years. It is easier to be a SME. Leadership, IMO, is a much longer journey and one that is never perfected and is no place for thin skinned or emotional personalities.

We have Sonic's everywhere. Prob haven’t had Sonics in 10-15 years. No desire.
We have several In-N-Out’s. Not a huge fan either. Primarily because it brings too many people on the road and idc for that

There was a WhiteCastle type joint in CO that sold slider type burgers (2" squares). My dad and I would go through the drive-through and order 2 dozen burgers and 3 dozen cheeseburgers and a large diet coke.

A&W is great, it's a good thing there isn't one near me. Best fast food cheese curds around.
I can agree the burgers are overpriced but the cookies and cream shake makes me cream my jorts.

We have a couple relatively close, and I agree on both statements. We know the manager of one through my kid, and while the food was meh, they were generous towards the youth football program so there's that.

This is 100% true... Anyone can rattle off and behave in a way that 'exemplifies' leadership as taught at a seminar or read in a book when things are flowing normal and there's no drama; but as soon SHTF or a crisis starts to spin up (like real world this is gonna be some bad day shit) and you start peel back the layers of the onion, those that lack leadership based quality personal character traits and proper drive will crumble...

I've watched countess 'golden-boy inner-circle leaders' turn into lay downs and fall back into their natural submissive positions, hoping someone else would step up and lead through the crisis. Everything from a full on look back and the mother fucker is gone; to locking up and going almost catatonic; to babbling incoherently while barking out orders that make no freakin' sense; to doing absolute nothing but occupying space while trying to get a hold of someone above them to make the decision; etc..

Bottom line... just because someone has 'positional leadership' doesn't mean they are a leader.

It is a fun game. To play at a backyard BBQ, with a beer in your hand.
To see that game played as a serious sport? With a crowd? And the dudes are all serious and thanking God? And there was a commercial for Cornhole gear?
The best part is it was a little skinny dude that looked 16 against a big fat dude.
    Basically just regular people.
I dunno, I didn't know they got all serious with it and made it a league and a real sport. Just hit me as stupid, funny and a little sad.

Fwiw, I'm off my meds for the next week.
I keep seeing this commercial and just keeping thinking,...what kind of retard loads their little SUV with lumber like this, so that you can't even get in it and drive,.....and why are we telling people that it's perfectly okay to be this retarded? It's okay, you just call a number and a happy man comes and makes it all okay.
    This needs to stop.
