I generally tip well when I'm in the States. I almost never tip in Canada. Here all the servers make minimum wage ($15/hr) + tips. Most service is crap too. I'm surprised if my drink is ever refilled. The last few times I've been out to dinner it wasn't even our server who brought our food out, it was either a manager or a totally different server. Our original one was off taking orders at other tables, and yet they still expect a 20% or higher tip!? Fuck that.

Going out to eat really isn't worth it any more. I cook better food at home anyways.

Stumbled upon a new band/song while watching a Dork in the Road video. He had it on his phone on screen, but obviously had the awful free yootoob music, so I had to take a peek into what he listens to. This is the first I've heard of them, and I kinda like this one. This. And I make food that my kids will actually eat. I won’t lie my wife makes most of it but the kids do say daddy makes the best burgers.

 

We have the opposite problem. Our kid is gradually deciding she doesn't like any dish we make any more. At some point I'm just going to start making stuff I like and she can have a peanut butter sandwich for supper every night for all I care.
