Neighbor just pulled up in a brand new black pro 4x frontier. I got to walk around it and look in. They are pretty sweet. Too small for my stage of life but see the attraction to them.

The engine wasn't completely unproven. They ran it in the last year of the old body style. By all accounts, it's a better highway cruiser and plusher ride than the Taco, but lacks the off-road chops. For the adventures you go on, I think you made the right choice.

 

I think every manufacturer has had some decent stuff in the last 20 years, but some are more consistent. Nissans aren't terrible, but I've generally felt there was always a better choice for a given application.

Yup Nissan. I had 2004 Nismo Fontier that I loved however at the time I had just gotten married and the payment sucked, so it had to go.

I wish I had one of the old 240’s. Those are cool!

 

I would agree with that. They are typically the cheaper of the Japanese makes but also a little less capable and not as big of an aftermarket selection as already mentioned. I’ve owned 3 Nissan’s and still have one and have never had any reliability concerns.

I had a 2001 Xterra. That was before I realized they are chick vehicles.

We had a 09 Xterra. My wife drove it till we got her the Armada and then I ended up driving the Xterra for 6 months before I got the Tundra. It was nice but agree on the chick vehicle. There was no way to make it manly.
