Not sure your reservations on being litigious in this situation, or if you did any math about the trouble with that versus the fistfight you're going to have with the insurance company; but the guy should make you whole, regardless of whether his insurance company does or not. It's an offset for risk, not an abdication of responsibility. Might at least be worth a phone call.

Probably. I honestly don't know anything about what it would take to bring a is vehicle into Canada, let alone the other way around.

Only got a few inches of snow, fortunately it wasn’t the heavy wet snow again. Much easier to clean up

    12g all day!
This is one of my lighting panels. I do all my own wiring and agree, 12g is the way to go.

It is actually big business around here bringing used vehicles, usually trucks, into the US. The exchange rate is a huge help. The company handles all the metric to English conversions and paperwork. Know a guy that did it and he said it saved him about $3k.

My guess is these shops will do it for anyone…

I’ve tried to tell her we can get her one of the little Japanese dump bed trucks. She’s not having it.

    Definitely!

These modules can be wired with 12 or 14g but if you run 14g, you lose a significant amount of watts available (25%). The rule of thumb is if you feed the modules with 12g, then all the outputs (regardless of load) need to be run in 12g as well.

This is a dedicated lighting/fan panel (no switched outlets or interfaces) so it only required regular 20a QO breakers at the time, one for each module. I was fortunate that this all happened before the strict AFCI/GFI regulations.

Props on making can lights up with #12.

I did a load calc and ran 14 for lighting in my house. My 2 lighting circuits pull roughly 6-8 amps each.

I dealt with this in July 2021 when a kid turned left on a flashing yellow on me, I was going straight the other way and hit him head on at about 45 mph. He was looking through his side window when I hit him, never saw me coming. Popped every airbag in my Tacoma and the insurance company said “it sounds like a total loss” but they had to dick-fuck around for a month before they assessed it and gave me a number. They lowballed me and I argued for another 2 weeks before they paid out. The kid lied to his insurance company about have a green light and we had nothing other than the police report, so it went to subrogation for over a year before they just said nobody was at fault.

Since he didn’t own up and the insurance companies were fighting it out, I was out my deductible and was only covered $30/day for 30 days for a rental. The car market was off the handle that summer and my economy rental was $140/day. I said screw it and bought a Tundra 2 days after the accident. My wife and I had been tossing around the idea of a bigger truck for a while, so why not.

It was irritating and a colossal waste of time with insurance, but on the bright side I’m in a Tundra and get to hang out on these forums now. You guys are pretty cool.41AEA40F-9ABE-41AA-A439-964BAA32A9BA.jpg

Looks hopeless. I don't see duct tape anywhere. You're doomed.

Yup, and one in my wife’s Highlander now too. That accident taught me many lessons.

    Success!
No duct tape needed, just some cleaning, silicone spray and latch exercising.
I almost just went inside to order the latch assembly but decided to give it some TLC and see what happens.

I need one for Saffron as well. Thinking I'll do the little one that Chloe Kuo used in hers. There's a company that makes a power adapter cable that tied it into the rearview mirror so you don't need a USB port or to rout cabling. She has links in her video description.
