So, does anyone here do the new year resolution thing?

I personally do not, but I'm not anti for others. I just don't think that another trip around the sun is going to magically give me the motivation or ability to change who I am. I think an approach of continual self improvement is more realistic, beneficial, and achievable.

That said, I'd be interested to hear what you guys have planned, if anything.

I don't do resolutions but I do need to resume working out regularly once I'm fully recovered from my surgery.

I haven’t always done NY resolutions but I decided in late ‘21 I’m done setting myself up to fail. For 2022 I wrote a contract for myself with a theme. It had reminders of who I want to be and goals to get there, but no “shall” statements. I’ve updated it for ‘23 and I’ll keep pushing.

Guy ran a red, hit my daughter’s car 20 miles from home (thankfully no injuries). He got arrested for DUI. I had to go down and tear a bunch of stuff off the front to make it drivable to get it home. Crawled into bed after 3:30…

 

Start 2023 with Buckboard bacon. Done. Winning!

 

You don't have to change it, I just double take and chuckle every once in a while.

Oh shit, Casey! That sucks. Even if she doesn't feel it now, get her checked out. It can take a day or two for injuries to present. Guy at work got t boned and felt fine, then two days later his back ached a bit. He had two broken vertebrae from the hit.

@RainMan_PNW I know you said no injuries, so that's good, but how is she doing this morning? Car accidents can be pretty traumatic for some people.

She’s still sleeping. She had just started through the intersection from a stop…Not sure what his speed was but can’t have been too high because it messedup the front but the car still drove straight after I pulled all the body parts away from the tires.

It’s gonna be the game of what insurance wants to do (total or repair) followed by dealing with getting her into a temporary vehicle until we can find a suitable replacement. Either way, it is going to cost me money in the end…
