I need to get my write up together. I started it but need to put the details in there.
Pricing things out though, it’s a few $k to do because of the cost of the sensors and other parts.

Nope.
Pretty much not a possibility to pull from the '08 and install on the '21. All of the connectors and wiring are different between them for that system.

To do the Sonar with all factory parts (I've not had good luck not using factory for the sonar sensors) AND using new factory bumper parts (with the holes in them), this is your cost, plus the cost to get the bumper corners painted. Also have to add in some $$$ for wiring terminals, wire loom, wire, and some connectors...so probably closer to $2850.


To skip the bumper parts and just drill out your current bumper, you can bring that down to this (again, plus about $50-70 for some connectors, terminals, wire, and loom)

 

I've got a better place to spend $2-$3k...

 

The strip club might be more fun in the moment, but if the sensors save you from crushing your garage door, you're money ahead.

 

Good point, but I'm not a strip club kinda person; nothing against them or ladies that earn a living that way, but if I'm gonna throw money at a chick it's going to be for drinks so she can see past my flaws

 

I'm not a strip club guy either. They either wind up being a whole lot of "look what you can't have" or more likely "look what you don't want."

I would’nt have done it to mine if I didn’t have to do it to troubleshoot and fix it on someone else’s truck (which I still have to go finish fixing it on, meaning another trip to Texas). At this point, any money I made on that install is long gone having to do the setup on mine.

I’ve never had parking beepers before, so for me the front and rear cameras do everything I need

Pretty much. A front camera setup will run you 1/10th or do the cost, and homemade sound effects are free.

 

Honestly, I’m not a fan of cameras. They are better than nothing, but get them dirty or wet and they are worthless. Sensors will work in more scenarios than cameras.

 

Love having both, honestly.
