Based on the last two being really old posts, I think he’s going to start ramping up his postings

Ugh. First night shift and I came in to all kinds of stuff broken and one of my monitoring systems on the fritz. :angrygirl:

That’s the great thing about my current job. Everything is always broken, so it’s no big deal to come back after a few days off.

Oh, stuff always breaks. That's normal. What isn't is when the tool used to check on the broken things/sometimes repair them is broken.

    This guy gets it.

Pfft. Monitoring and fixing is overrated. At least according to the budget allocation.

So, as previously mentioned, a generous member on here offered to send me a sampler of the Flight Chocolates that get posted up every so often. I'm not good at receiving gifts, but I was talked into it. What follows was an edited/adjusted PM to that member about the chocolates and I was given permission to share it here, but I'm still leaving them anonymous unless they choose to reveal themselves. I've personally had too many situations where I've been nice or helped somebody out and I wind up being asked by everyone and their brother who heard about it for favors or handouts. Thus, I tend toward anonymity and respect it for other generous persons.

    Man they look pretty!

My sinuses are clear so full taste is restored, and I shared these with Mom today. :)

Quite rich, but still very light. Even my unrefined sense of taste could pick up several twists in each piece.

Just so you know what you are looking at, here's a quick snip from their website.

    upload_2022-12-14_22-55-26.jpg

My aversion to fruit mixed with chocolate made the fig and wine my least favorite, but even it had nice moments, and the dark chocolate aftertaste was mildly bitter, so it got rid of the fruitiness pretty quickly.

The whiskey one was warm and smooth, if that makes sense. My palate isn't refined and I don't know how to properly describe things, but it was really well blended and subtle. Slight hint of a nutty/butter flavor maybe, but all so seamlessly flowing as though it might not have really been there at all. This one was my favorite.

The one furthest to the right in the image has coffee in it, so I didn't get to sample it, but Mom said it was "good." She has less ability to describe flavors beyond, sweet, salty, bitter, etc. than I do.

The bittersweet is appropriately named. This one was the biggest contrast in flavors to my palate, and that boggles my brain. Still a smooth transition/blend, but more sudden in change that the others. Not what I would expect for two simple and similar ingredients.

Altogether a pleasant experience, and none had loud or jarring flavor juxtapositions, but discernable differences were present in each piece.

I am still partial to milk chocolate as my preferences don't ever really slant toward bitter flavors, but this was delightful.

Off work and heading home! Saffron has handled the snow really well so far, even with the grader leaving a mini drift/berm at the end of my driveway. Even the stock tires are pretty decent. Very pleased. :)

Yesterday on the way to drop off my kid at school, he asked me why all the grass was painted white. Apparently he hadn’t seen frost before. Spoiled Arizona kid.

Send him up here for a couple weeks. I can put him to work shoveling my driveway and sweeping off the Tundra.

I think you’ll find out pretty quickly that won’t work the way you hope lol. He fought us when we tried to get him to wear gloves when we flew into Chicago last Christmas. That was a fun wait for the shuttle in 20° weather.

He's not my kid. I can't force him to wear winter gear if he doesn't want to. But he ain't coming in until the truck and driveway are spotless...

“Dead to Me” was also fantastic. I finished the latest season in about a week, ha.

We sound like a bunch of chicks here, but these shows are a mix of suspense, and comedy

I do appreciate when the writers and directors end a show on a good ledge, with the door closed but unlocked for something to follow. That one did that.

That one ended well. Kicked you in the feels. Better Call Saul did that too. I'd rather a show just skip the last episode(s) than end poorly (e.g. Battlestar Galactica, Dexter).
