Grabbed one of the classic corn dogs yesterday! Definitely a solid corndog, and agreed they’re best with a little mustard. I plan on trying the pickle one before we leave this weekend.

 

I had this from docking bay 7 in galaxy’s edge a couple days ago it was good. They changed the menu’s everywhere on Friday. I’m excited to go back Monday to try some new foods.

 

We don't have a good ramen place here on the coast; it's the perfect winter meal!!!!

We have a really good pho place nearby in AZ but I haven’t found a ramen one within a few miles. If I feel like driving 20-30 mins then I have quite a few options. It was cold here (for my bitch-ass standards) so the warm ramen hit the spot.

West of the Strip in Vegas, off of Spring Mtn, is China Town; ramen, Thai, Chinese, etc....all hours of the night They even have a late night karaoke bar at one of the Thai restaurants; although I'm pretty sure it's run by the mob.

 

I've had homemade from scratch made pho and also the restaurant pho...I can definitely tell the difference. The homemade pho ruined me.. now I can't have homemade pho in the restaurant doesn't taste as good. Pho is one of my favorite meals

 

This pic was from DC about 5 years ago... Stopped in a hole in the wall in China Town and ordered what I believe was braised duck and noodle soup. Unfortunately, server did not speak English, so I don't know everything in it. We both did a lot of nodding and smiling, this came out, and it was the one of the best meals I've ever had!!! The bill came, and it was like $7.... I left them a $20!!!!!

 

...same trip, but a different night. I stopped into one of David Chang's place, and this was the special for the night.... Braised chicken over "veggies"!!!!!

There is a really good pho place a few miles from me. No ramen places but my wife makes a great homemade ramen dish. Soups are my go to from now until early March.

 

This was at a place in San Francisco, we stopped here one evening during a Napa trip... The believe the name of the place was PPQ Dungeness or something like that. They had a garlic noodle dish that was crazy.... although the crab was pretty good too.

 

You know it’s about to go down when they give you one of those plastic bibs with a lobster on it

 

If your wife doesn't mind sharing her ramen recipe, I'd appreciate it. Tried a few but so far have not been super successful....

 

That's exactly what happened here... tables and tables of people, everyone w/bibs and they just kept bringing the food out!!!!

 

I’ve watched her make it and it’s not usually the same. She takes any Ramon noodles we have, sometimes it’s the cheaper instant ones sometimes it’s better ones. She throws the package of seasoning away if it’s the instant ones with the seasoning packet. She Boils the noodles in usually a broth vs water sometimes it’s water with a scoop or part of a cube of bouillon. It could be veggie, chicken or beef depending on what we have at the time. I think she mixes mostly soy with a little chili garlic paste, ginger paste, rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown suger in a cup, as far as measuring I’ve never seen her do that. She drains some of the water out of the noodles then mixes the sauce in. Sometimes that’s it. Sometimes she puts sesame seeds on it, I’ve seen her mix a beat egg in the noodles while they are cooking and top with left over thin sliced steak. Topped with green onion and sliced boiled eggs. I’ve had it with left over grilled onions and peppers in it. I’ve even had it with strips of sliced cooked deli ham in it. It’s always way better than the instant packs

 

Love them too, they don't wreck me like those Habaneros did!
