Not referring to that one specifically. Just seeing a lot of comments on social media from people who seem to think the Bronco should be an F150 with the bed lopped off and forgetting its true origins.

 

yeah I don’t see that. It’s mainly a Jeep competitor or even a 4R competitor I guess. I think I would take a 4R over a Bronco but would take the Bronco over a Jeep.

 

I think the Wrangler was their main target.

 

Still have an extremely bad taste in my mouth after having had a Ford Bronco - the taste of four transmissions.

 

The wife has things she does w/her family on Sat evening, and I've got an OCD issue w/laundry; water temps, blending of colors, etc. So, I take care of my laundry on Saturdays, and she does things w/her family that I'd normally not be all that interested in doing. She doesn't feel pressure to leave sooner than she wants, and I don't get frustrated cause my t-shirts were dried on 'high' win/win!!!!

Anyhow, now that there has been numerous comments and the "magic" is gone, I'll keep it short and sweet. I think the act of buying someone gifts (of that nature) and doing things you mentioned can very easily be construed the wrong the way. Even if it's not taken as a romantic gesture, the recipient can view your offerings as condescending. 'What, you don't think I'm capable of taking care of myself?', 'Do I look like I can't afford to buy my own espresso machine?', etc....

Especially since she has recently moved out on her own; this is kinda her time to flourish and develop as an independent human. Allow her to do that. As @GODZILLA said, I wouldn't do anything for her that I wouldn't do for any other friend (male or female) or neighbor, etc...

It's important to be yourself and not walk on eggshells regarding how you behave around people, but I do think the specifics you mentioned are not 'everyday offerings' within a new or desired friendship. I will say this though; if you have a burning desire to buy a small appliance for someone, I could really use one of these...

anyhow, I may be off on this, but look at it from her point of view and what would have be reasonable behavior or response.... You save her time and money by helping her out w/moving furniture. If anything, I'd think that the normal course would be HER wanting to do something nice for you and offering to 'buy you lunch' or 'have you over for dinner (this would demonstrate a more romantic interest)', or buy you a gift card and have it passed through her mom to your mom back to you, etc....

I agree w/the concept of not reaching out any further.

However, I would say that if you do end up reconnect in some way w/her (whether initiated by you are her), I'd strongly recommend that you maintain a very clear line of communication and intention. If things start to channel in a direction your not wanting, just shoot straight and don't try to 'soften the blow', etc. You'll be doing both of you a favor!!!

I don't think anyone is suggesting doing anything from a distance or to not be friendly, just don't do things that are different or over the top for what you do under similar circumstances w/anyone you perceived to not have mental illness.
