Same with Oregon. Not Ore-a-gone, Orygun! The clam chowder is way better in Oregon/Washington than what goes for clam chowder back east....heh...heh...

So somehow, Best Buy screwed up on my TV order from the other day, saying that my order was never picked up. I called a few days ago and talked to someone at the store that just said their system was running behind and I wouldn't need to do anything. Then over the weekend I got an email that the order had been cancelled, and now I have a credit back on my credit card for it... I've tried calling their customer support and using their online chat, but either have insane wait times or can't connect. What's the rules around best effort here? Let them eat their mistake, or do I keep trying to do right and get them to fix it?

I would say do one last thing, shoot them an email. Also set the money aside juuuust in case a month from now you get a letter stating that you owe money and they will do whatever they can to get it back.

What do you guys use for security cameras around the outside of your house? I have the ring doorbell and one other camera right now. It does its job but the video quality isn’t great. I’m wanting to add some more cameras and wanted to see if there is anything better out there before I get too deep with one brand. Any recommendations?

True dat! I’ve got the same except only one dog. Im guessing you guys are remote enough that you probably don’t get a lot of people driving by unless it’s delivery people. (I hope to be that way someday) My truck has to be parked out side when at home so I like to keep an eye on it even though we are in a decent neighborhood. Also I like to know who comes to my door when I’m not home. Usually just the mail but every once in a while get the slimy roof salesman that I can just tell them off from my phone so the wife doesn’t have to deal with it.

And now for a helpful answer; I had Simply Safe before and liked it, really easy to use. We got rid of it because we just didn't really use it much.

Yeah, I live up on a hill with a 800' driveway so I don't get any trash wandering by.

That would be nice to see who comes up to the door.

Does the ICSee have a monthly subscription for the app and storage of the videos? I do like that some of those have the ability to pan around.

Do you use the blinks with battery power? If so how is the life of the battery’s? They claim up to 2 years which would be a big improvement from what I do now. I think my ring cam I’m charging every 2-3 months.

They have power cords you run too. It really depends on the sensitivity and how much it detects. I think once every 8 months or so I have to replace them. The one in my garage has been a year and still going strong.

I’m running an Arlo system. Bought a 3-cam system a few years ago from Costco and it didn’t need a monthly subscription. Then my batteries died, and the only camera’s available now require a subscription. Kind of a racket, but it works really well so for something like $8/mo I don’t complain.

I get 30 days of cloud storage for the subscription. The video quality is decent and the newest cameras last 6-8 weeks between charging. I’m probably going to install a few solar panels to keep them charged up. The app is intuitive and I can set schedules and “activity zones” to focus the motion trigger.

Was a Cajun for Easter again - down at the in-laws. GF Cajun food at its finest. Also one night of takeout from Prejean's in Carencro - @Fotnot and anyone else that finds themselves down that way, you have to wade through the inept kids waiting tables, but the kitchen is doing a great job. Fun live music, too.

I've stopped in Scott and hit up best stop and Don's. Best stop has better cracklins and good seasons. Some of the best crackling. Don's is bigger and has some good stuff too. I have In-Laws 5 miles from my house and it's effing awesome! A lil sad knowing you passed through my clogged up gene pool and didn't stop to say hey:(

I definitely intend to take some time for a visit on a trip down that way. This time it would have got effed up anyway; but I'll PM you when we're getting ready to go next. Might be fall; but sometimes we hit them up for a visit not attached to a holiday.

The whole sordid story is too long; but basically our gas company screwed us out of getting on the road when we'd intended - by about a half-day; and forced us to come home about a half-day earlier than we'd intended as well. Still a first-world problem, but man they need to get their defecation into organized piles.

Why does it smell like natural gas? Atmos reports more odor calls | wfaa.com
Not that you'd think I'd make something up - - The little spritz of gas that doesn't get burned as the water heater kicks on left the garage smelling like I had a leak. Called the gas company; but they didn't show after 8 hours. Read the story linked above, and hit the road. I didn't cancel their visit - my mistake - and when they arrived two hours later to nobody home, they shut off my gas. Had to come home early, because their site said they close business at 6p, and after 6 hours on the road I'd want a shower.

How far away from Opelousas/Lafayette are you, and what food/drink/thing from Texas will you need when I come?
