Real talk, I would be straight lying if I said I had the confidence in the CVT that I do in a conventional automatic. That being said, it has impressed the hell out of me how good it acts and behaves. I think part of it might be due to the better final drive ratio that the Wilderness gets because it seems there's not nearly as many complaints on the forum about the wilderness and the CVT compared to other trim levels with the CVT. Regardless, it's super enjoyable. Like, regular automatics I always used to run into the issue where I would give a throttle, nothing, give it a little more throttle, nothing, give it a little more throttle and then it takes off full steam ahead. This whenever I get more throttle I get more acceleration. And the kickdown for passing is the fastest I've ever experienced and that includes driving a Volkswagen GTI with a dual clutch transmission. As soon as the pedal hits the floor it is instantaneously right in the power band. Also super nice in hilly terrain no shifting up and down. I will concede, and I'm sure you guys have come across complaints about this, the fake shifts are kind of lame. Under partial throttle they feel completely real and could fool anyone but once you floor it they are very obviously fake and kind of annoying. Lastly, and I know every vehicle has this to some degree, but when it senses you are in a feisty mood it plays along well. I have a roundabout on the way home and if I break late and go through at a fast clip she is ready to LAUNCH coming out the other side. I swear to God I'm not an undercover Subaru agent trying to sell wildernesses, I just really am that smitten with it :D

I've never liked CVTs until I drove (my) Corolla. It is probably helped by the hybrid system, but it does a great job keeping that little car scooting along with all 110ish HP. Not sure how well one would work in a truck...

I actually have been waiting to see which company will be the first to put one in a truck. It's bound to happen.

Also, since I've already written an entire novel today I might as well write one last thing, and a negative thing at that! The head unit. I'm sure you guys also heard all the numerous complaints about it. Mine isn't as bad as some people have it, where it freezes, or reboots, but it definitely is laggy. Also, some things like the seat warmer controls should really be physical buttons, or at the least 1 tap on the screen rather than 2. Also, Android auto is a crapshoot on how well it works as well as it only taking up like 60 percent of the screen rather than utilizing the whole thing. Lastly for a vehicle that cost that much and is a 22 model year you sure would think the front and rear cameras would be better. There, I am done filling your guy's entire screen with words for today....unless asked more car questions

    We like reading. :blahblah:

It's good info and fun auto enthusiast stuff. Plus, you use punctuation, spacing, and the occasional paragraph.

It's the unending run on sentences with horrendous spelling that get skipped.

Like, sugar? It literally had the Subaru symbol printed on it. Didn't taste very good. Which is lame because I don't think making cookies taste good is very hard.
