Longest for me is my Ford escort I had growing up. Had it for about 5 years. Got it in mint condition, grandma owned no rust. Thing was a trooper, big time. Beat the shit out of it and it kept coming back for more. Imagine a kid with a fair amount of money saved up driving a long paid for 90's economy car :D Longest newer vehicle would be my Tacoma. Had it 2 years 2 months. The rest are all between 10 months and a year, BUT THE SUBARU WILL BE DIFFERENT!!! Hopefully

Wow. You guys don't hold on to them long. Longest for me was my very first brand new car. Bought in August of 2005 and it was an '05 Dodge Stratus SXT. Got rid of it in April of 2017 for the WRX. Somewhere between '08 and early 2010 I got an '03 Ram 2500 with a Cummins that I traded in 2018 on the Jeep Renegade. WRX and the Renegade were traded on the Tundra in 2019. Went long for a bit, and then bought 3 new vehicles in 3 years.

Do you aim for the tundra to set the new record for how long you keep a vehicle?

Longest for me is my GMC Sierra 2500. Made it just about 4 years and about 70k miles. Otherwise I'm getting itch around the three year mark. It is the running joke with my friends and family. They ask "oh, how long you going to keep this?" and I always say "Forever". Which is generally the goal, I've just never had a rig that didn't have endless quality issues that wore me down. I'm about 2.2 years into my Tundra and still loving it. Way more than anything else I've ever owned. The new Sequoia made me pause for a minute, but my truck is paid for and there are so many other things to spend money on right now.

Wife and I are negotiating for another around of expensive mods. Her starting question is "well, how long are you going to keep this truck?" I cannot say "forever" and look her in the eyes, so we're at a stalemate.

I hope it's the last truck I ever buy, but NGL the little Ford Maverick would probably serve me just as well.

I maintain my vehicles like I'm going to keep them forever but I know for an absolute fact I can't hold on to a vehicle for too long. For me it's like eating the same thing everyday, eventually you get tired of it and want to mix it up.

I sincerely commend you for realizing and saying that. There are so many people that shit on ridgelines and the maverick just because they have to fit in with everyone else and claim it's not a real truck cuz it doesn't have a frame and have a bedside that's as high as your head.

A double-edged sword kind of thing. Sucks that it happens but probably good for you in the long run.

one-upping you guys a little. My vehicle previous to the '20 1794 was an '06 Tundra I bought new. Rode the Old Gray Mare around for 238k miles, and the only reason I swapped when I did was my wife's insistence. I probably don't have 238k miles left to drive in the entire remainder of my life, so I might be driving the Shiny TuRD longer than Toyota makes parts for her.

1998 Honda Civic - bought in May 2008 so I could get to my summer job. Sold it to my brother in May 2012 so he could get a summer job 200 miles away and so I could buy myself a new car after graduating from university.
2012 Kia Forte Koup SX - bought in June 2012. Still have it as I didn't get around to selling it before March 2020 but I haven't driven it since I got the Tundra.
    Tundra - bought January 2020.

Wife has a 2013 Corolla she bought new in December 2012.

I come by it honestly. My dad has owned all his vehicles for at least 9 years except his first 2.

CEL the very next day and had the deal squashed, and grabbed the Titan. Titan lasted a few weeks and had an exhaust leak. Squashed that deal and walked out with a 2011 Tacoma. Maybe it was 09’. I don’t recall. Think I got it in 2010/11

I know financially buying used makes sense but I just can't get myself to do it. I see how badly people treat their vehicles and I also know so many people who traded in their vehicle because they were having issues and I just am too nervous.
