Yeah... I've had black rigs in the past. Never again. It'd have to be such a stupid good deal that I'll never own a black vehicle again. That, or black will have to be the only option.

Just pure excitement. I don't get super attached to vehicles. I get them use, put a whole bunch of miles on them in a short amount of time, and then move on to the next one :D I will have to say the tundra was my second favorite out of the all the vehicles I've had only to my Miata. Yeah black is not my first choice but in today's market you take what you can get and though I do believe what everyone says about keeping it looking nice I'm not too worried as that doesn't matter a whole bunch to me. (As my tundra sits in the driveway with scratches all over) this one was already being built with all the options I wanted so I snagged it before someone else could. Definitely would have gotten the blue otherwise.

That's awesome. I'll probably wander over to the Subaru build and price tool for some window shopping. Not in the market at all, but I love oohing and aahing over vehicles.

All of that being said, I know it's not sustainable or realistic to get a new vehicle every single year. I'm hoping I will actually love this one enough to hang on to it for at least a few years. (I'm like the boy who cried wolf because I have said that with my past three vehicles lol)

I've done both sides of it. The long term is much less stress. Bought my first brand new car in 2005, sold (gave) it to a friend in 2017 and somewhere in there picked up a used truck. In 2017 that car was replaced by the only vehicle I regret getting rid of, and the following year I replaced the truck with a Jeep Renegade. Beast of a winter clearly demonstrated the car could not handle the deep snow, and the Renegade barely could, so in 2019 I bought my Tundra. Traded both the others on it. Then I was dumb and got two SxS toys, one in 2020 and one in 2021.

New is nice, but it's even nicer when you let it age and you reap the benefit of no payments. I plan for the Tundra to be with me until one of us dies. One SxS will depart to make room for a small motorcycle in hopes of scratching my sporty vehicle itch. It's cheaper than replacing my dearly departed WRX.

I have already planned my next vehicle and I’ve had it since end of July. :anonymous:
Same vehicle, just faster, brand new, and different color

I will say one thing, I'm very pleased to see that the outback forums are very active and the aftermarket is healthy. Really disappointing when I get a vehicle and the forums are dead and the aftermarket is lacking.

My wife calls my vehicles my mistresses. They get too much of my time and money. I’ve chased the “new thing” or last of a generation thing. Cars and trucks. I ordered my F150 exactly how I wanted it so I would be satisfied when the time came for my oldest needing a car. I knew my days of new rigs was done. Whelp, that didn’t work out so here I am. Honestly hope I can make this one last but all my friends just laugh when I say “I’m keeping this one”.

    Time will tell…

As long as you and yours are happy with it and can afford it, there's nothing wrong with either approach. I personally prefer to have a vehicle stay on. I love to window shop new stuff, but I don't like to let go of old vehicles as much.

    Same here! Lol
I went through about 3 trucks in 3 years until I finally just got the one I really wanted. Went from a '14 Ram 1500 I bought new to a '06 Silverado to a '15 DC tundra. That truck made me realize I had to have the Crewmax with the bigger fuel tank for towing.
I was paying off debt when I went backwards with the '06.
I'm keeping the '17 and the Sequoia for a long time.
Rig #3 will be my wife's first new one. Looking at those Subaru Wilderness editions, Rav4 hybrid, next gen turbo 4R so far.
