Steering wheel shake when braking has gotten progressively worse. Need to get the rotors turned but they had no availability this weekend. Only during the week. Can't take a day off from work to work on the truck though. Predicaments

New rotors. They arent that expensive and are easy to swap. Then take the old rotors down at your convenience and shelve them until the next time it happens when you can repeat the process. Thats if you even want to bother with machined used/warped rotors, usually once they're warped and machined down they warp again quicker the next time due to less rotor mass leading to quicker heating and thus warping.

    $63 each from advance auto
$10 or $15 each to turn them

Probably going the new rout just so I can get it done.

Not true, most of the time we only take .015" off. That difference doesn't make it warp quicker.

This is what down shifting is for;)

Not going to spend the money on a rental car either. Unless it's offered free or cheap if I drop off my truck with you?

Then the guys around here dont know wtf they're doing. I've had a few places turn rotors before and they shrunk significantly. They only lasted me another 3-6mo after in those situations on my Tacoma's.... and they were Manual trans and I always engine braked. ;) It was the added load of 35's that led to it for me. haha

It's like 18 buck a day or something like that. In all reality we can turn rotors in an hour....

That could be... just cuz u can take off more safely with these newer advanced machines, doesn't make it right. We are told to only remove .010" each cut. That's nothing.... why take off more than u have to?

With tacos warped rotors could mean numerous things... 2nd gen tundras and newer have disc in the rear, no adjustment back there. So warped rotors are normally due to excessive braking down hill without down shifting....

With drum rear brakes, more often than not, the rear shoes were not adjusted correctly. This causes the front rotors to accept even more stopping responsibility.... Boom warped in no time. A properly setup and adjusted rear drum brake will stop like a son of a bitch and the front rotors won't have to work as hard....

    You just jump!
The preferred method is a couple hundred skydives and then find someone qualified to teach you. I had my mentor and goals more or less set up before I started skydiving.

^ this might be better than a successful jump. Winning!
We hiked in from where the pavement ends on Kane creek. Short cut up Jackson hole to cliff hanger. Walked that for a while then end on the cliff wall across from the potash mine. 400' to impact cliff, 2 seconds of free fall and a nice 1,500' canopy flight down to the other side of the river where we were picked up. Moab is a playground for many things. I used to work here every other week. Now I'm covering a couple shifts the next two days with plenty of playing as well

Very cool. The cliffs at the end of that trail (quite a bit in there) are nuts. Like crazy huge.

This is my first vehicle with rear disc brakes. Is there any other adjustment besides the pump and bleed of the hydraulics?
Just re read your post and you said no adjustment.

No they are not. And no, only adjustment is the enrage adjustment shoes on the inside of the rear rotors. But it won't make a difference in stopping power. I'm gonna do an ebc kit on the front of my tundra when I need brakes

If you piss someone off enough to know your truck from others ...or have something someone wants and they see an opportunity at some point down the road....call me paranoid, but sometimes thinking like a criminal, or knowing what they can / will do can help....just my .02
