    As a millennial and son of a software engineer, I'm disappointed but not surprised that I know more about computers than the call centre in India. It's just grating that they have to follow the checklist that starts with "did you plug it in and turn it on?" Then, when they run out of questions, they transfer you to the North Americans who know what they're doing. Why can't I just call those guys first?

    Just so people who have never been to Wyoming can understand what we are talking about, Elk Mountain is located just south of I-80 near Laramie, Wyoming. The stretch of I-80 that runs by it is THE most closed stretch of interstate highway in the entire country. That mountain has absolutely insane weather on/around it and it can do it at any time of the year. The wind alone is enough to blow over semi trucks and push high profile cars off the road.

    For any skeptics I have a picture to share. This is a picture of the 45 foot cell tower on the mountain. The cell site had been down for a day, and our crews used snow cats to get up to the site. They sent this picture as an explanation of the outage and the fact that they couldn't do anything to fix it.

    That's all ice and heavy crusted snow that is sticking out horizontal from the tower and building. Remember this picture next time you call your cellular provider and act like an asshole because you dropped a call. Sometimes there is NOTHING we can do.
