Bummer that it didn't work out for you. I'm short, so the one they got me can actually go a bit too high for me if I max it out. I guess that this and tall women are the perks of being short.

 

I miss my sit-stand desk...only needed to use it standing up once or twice a week, but a huge relief

 

It really is. Just nice to get a change, improve the posture, and adjust the blood flow. 12 hour shifts make me love it even more, but I don't use it every day.

 

That's a crazy long shift. I'd be using mine daily if I was having to sit for that long.

 

It's long, but this is the best schedule I've seen for having 24/7 coverage. We work 7 on and then get 7 off. 6AM to 6PM and opposite on nights. Lets us cover the position with just 4 people, as long as nobody ever gets sick or uses vacation. lol

FFS. Doesn't matter how tired I am, how early or how late I go to bed. I either wake up between 2 and 3 AM or after 4-6 hours of sleep; whichever comes first. I'm no stranger to sleep troubles, but this is a new trick and I am not a fan. Though I am stimulating the economy with a steady flow of the Kona Blend and Swiss Chocolate drinks from Monster Java.

So tired of being in the house. Rain has cancelled all driveway activities so I think I'm going to go for a drive for a few hours...

 

With fuel prices where they are, why would you not? If you go anywhere scenic post up some pics here. I would like to vicariously escape as well... and your Army Green is pretty to look at so....

 

Mostly quiet today. Some stupidity from a common source, and even fixed a customer's internet so far. Other than that, been playing some Trivium on Prime Music for the last few hours. 7 of 12 hours down, and the last 8 of this shift are all OT.

I’m 86 miles into a drive down some back roads. Found a mom and pop restaurant and waiting for them to walk out our burgers for lunch.

Feels great to get out of the house. The staff was very appreciative of our business as they are obviously hurting.

 

Good deal. I wish I could find something like that and leave them a big ol' tip. They surely need it more than me at this point.

 

Yep. I dropped a 20% tip. I know many of the big chain restaurants are often owned (franchised) by local owners, but we are going out of our way to support local independents right now.

Sorry, nope. Not in IT. If I were I would ask if it was on. If it was I would ask you to turn it off and then back on again.

I work in telecom, so I fixed that customer's internet from the switch side of things.
