Tundras live: Agree to disagree (a lesson in civility)

In 1930, according to some, Nikola Tesla was experimenting with transmission of energy through the air, and fitted a receiving unit & antenna to a 1930 Pierce-Arrow, which had the gasoline engine removed and an electric motor in its place. I think a sending unit(a giant Tesla Coil maybe) was in a nearby power plant and the car would drive effortlessly at 90 m.p.h. using the electricity beamed through the air.

Most think this is a myth or wishful thinking. It is possible to send energy through the air (radio, radar, infrared, lasers, cellphones, wireless chargers), and Tesla coils exist, but no one's ever found the car or its equipment. One funny part of the story is that the wealthy industrialist paying for this experiment saw how you could drive this car around just on transmitted electricity as long as you were in range of a power plant and asked: "How do we charge the customer to drive the car around?". "You don't, everybody drives around for free."

Who knows if any of this is true. Tesla was a brilliant inventor, coming up with AC current, the radio, AC electric motors and many other things. You'd think the receiving unit of the supposed no-battery electric car would be what they would have made money on.

This is my second of seven. Monday number 2.

 

That's good. Too many people are so serious all the time. A little levity goes a long way to making the monotonous times into fun times.

 

My schedule is 7 12s. Then 7 off. OT is partially built into it, but it resets with the week at midnight Sunday morning.

 

I treat the grocery store, or anywhere, like the road. I stick to the right, only cross if the way is clear, and try not to impede traffic. You think it's bad walking, try skiing or going out riding when all the dipshits congregate at an intersection and don't leave a path for through traffic that can't really stop/slow down. I hate people.

 

I haven't seen anyone with the same schedule I do, but it's the best damn way I've ever seen to cover a position 24/7/365. What's your rotation like?

lol. I have a fast pace too in the airport. I normally take the stairs and walk along side my peers taking the moving sidewalk. Best way to shake off a long flight. It kills me when I travel with the family. It is like dragging 3 anchors along
