See I heard that joke about pabst blue ribbon, but it wasn't a boat.

What does PBR and sex in a canoe have in common? They're both fucking near water.

You people that shop at Costco are crazy, I’m not so sure the juice is worth the squeeze. I just went with my mom to get propane and a pizza; the propane thing is bizarre with how you fill and pay, can’t order a pizza over the phone unless it’s 5 or more, dude told us 15 mins for za, they don’t call out numbers, I went up and checked if mine was done and was told the wait is 45mins and it’s only been 23mins, so we went inside and got cubed beef for red chili for Xmas and some tritips and some macadamia nuts hahah the pizza was ready when we came out…… and it was all the quality you could expect from a 10$ pie

I never had sex in a canoe, I would think it wouldn't work. Both canoe sex and PBR are off the bucket list.

It's very rare that a defibrillator fails.

But when it does, no one is shocked.

Costco is the closest thing we have on earth to living on a different planet. It’s the Star Wars cantina of shopping.

After 3 weeks of negotiations with my manager, yesterday I finally got to announce I am resigning at the group lead. I am done trying to fix “stupid”. Not my monkeys; not my circus.

It also coincided with my manager starting to talk about goals for 2025. Next year is going to be like getting laid for the first time. I’m going in, doing my business without care for anyone else and getting out.

Looking forward to work today for the first time in years.

One thing I’ve realized from a fair amount of international travel is that carrying multiple cell phones might only be unpopular in the States.

I didn’t meet a single person in any Asian country who didn’t have at least two phones. I asked one of my hosts about it. He had one personal phone, two for work (1 general company phone; 1 team phone). He likes that he can completely ignore work by turning those two off at home. He also acted like I was crazy for using one device to communicate with work and family/friends. In his country, one cell phone is a sign of poverty (you must not have a job if you don’t carry a second phone for work).

Seems weird to Americans because we generally don’t isolate work from home life.

My company made the decision to stop subsidizing phone service for employees about 10 years ago. I pulled my cell as a contact method for anyone outside HR, and I only keep company email on my phone for my own convenience, not theirs. It works.

Interesting that other cultures just presume two phones is normal. Seems more of an inconvenience. If I don't want to answer communications from work, I just don't answer. I don't really need an additional device to be able to ghost someone.

I understand cultural differences...but carrying 2 phones is not my style.

If I had my druthers...I would carry ZERO phones.

Other news media can only hire so many reporters. When your 'staff' is everyone, and they're everywhere, it's easier to get information out quicker. And even though you have to wade through bullshit, it's not censored for political expedience on X.

However, even X would have been subject to significant censorship (of legitimate information) if Musk hadn't bought it. Check out the Rogan podcast with Mike Benz from a few days ago. I've never heard Rogan so quiet in an interview, and the information should horrify people at our government. We're really close to losing the battle for individualism and freedom, if we haven't already.

Costco is great for many things but convenience isn't one of them. I personally like to go when they first open or about 45 minutes before closing. The one closest to me is one of the busiest in the nation and it's typically a combination of a zoo mixed in with some thunderdome most of the day.

I don't particularly enjoy grocery shopping so I try to get in and out as quick as I can. I also only go there once a week at the most.
