A sample of the quality and safe vehicles on the road with you. When I passed him I noticed the front end was smashed and the headlights were gone. But I'm sure he had full insurance coverage.

So, back to the Tesla client I had. She sent me a message asking if I can detail her vehicle. She continued to state she had just picked up her car from Tesla a week prior and noticed spots on the hood. She believed the vehicle simply needed a wash- and washed it.
Nope, that wasn’t it. She called Tesla, who said to bring it back and they’ll correct it. She did not want to turn back around, go back to the SC (which is not in a safe area for that particular location) and wait around for them to figure it out, so reached out to me and brought it over. I looked at it, and figured it was shitty soap, they let soak in the sun.
I did the wheels/tires, completer strip wash to remove any previous waxes applied, rinsed, 2 bucket wash and dried.
As the day got warmer, the spots came out. It was all over the hood, pillars, trunk, and back door area. I figured a one step polish (mind you, it had 112 miles on it) would be good and do the hood. I sent her a text, and pix of what’s discovered and she gave me written approval to proceed. She asked for a revised rate, but told her my concern is getting her brand new paint corrected and we’ll figure it out.
I polished the entire vehicle and it looked great; until I noticed the spots coming back after I had it on the driveway! I sent her a follow up text, and told her I had an idea, and will not charge her extra to redo this again. She was super thankful, and agreed to let me hold onto the vehicle longer as needed.
I then compounded the entire vehicle, and polished it, again. This time I was sure I got it, as I let it bake in the sun a bit more. She picked it up, paid, and was super excited how it came out. I asked her to keep an eye on it and to please let me know if any of those spots return. The next day she sent me a text, a lot came back on the hood! I was scratching my head, and reached out to a detailing buddy who said it’s water spots. I disagreed, as I tried water spot remover, and it didn’t make an ident. He agreed I could stop by his shop, and he’ll take a look at it. I informed the customer and she let me take it over there (maybe a 10-15 min drive tops) to try to correct it again. I told her again, I will not charge for this additional work as it’s my name behind it and I stand by it. She was super complimentary of the work ethic and appreciative.
I ran by her house, grabbed it and took it over there. He too, tried water sport remover- no luck. We busted out a much more aggressive pad, and some heavier compound. BOOM! I sent her a text asking if I can have it for another couple of hours, as I need to run it home to complete, but we believe to have the solution! He let me borrow the pad and compound, and I took it back to the garage and got to work. I once again, compounded the entire vehicle, followed it with polish, and let it “bake” into the sun. No spots! I brought it back, and refused payment from her husband. She sent me a text last night saying she bakes fancy cakes, cupcakes, whatever as a hobby and she would love to bake me something since I refused additional payment. I told her I love homemade cookies. My phone then dings- she sends me $100 via Venmo as an additional thank you. I sent her a text telling her it wasn’t necessary. I didn’t want her to be disappointed with her brand new vehicle, and Tesla should be ashamed of themselves for letting this go.
I reminded her once again, to please let me know if any spots come back. I didn’t hear from her all day, so I sent her a text to check in on the car. She said there’s one tiny spot that’s not worth talking about and was complimentary of me, again. I told her no, I want it perfect. I asked her to place painters tape on the area she noticed. She did so, and I told her I’ll need it for 30 mins or so. She agrees, swung by, and left it with me to tackle after I completed the (disgusting) Corolla I had in the garage. I got it all knocked out quickly, and brought it back over. Lo and behold- she made me some homemade cookies!
By far, one of the nicest clients I’ve had. I would really love to get my hands on her husbands Lexus. (Looks to be a 23’ or 24’ I didn’t catch which model of the Lexus suv it was)

With the enhanced pricing of used vehicles, this sort of vehicle on the road is increasing making it unsafe for everyone.

Pretty disappointed that the Anti-Dad Joke lobby finally got their way here. Thinking about heading over to the 3rd gen thread to post some there, they seem like a pretty tolerant group.

Another glaring issue I see is the inability to have an easy way of manipulating the slide should the shooter be rendered to operating the weapon w/a single hand (arm); exposed sights allow you the ability to clear malfunctions, reload, etc. w/the use of a single arm and a littel creativity...

The better solution though is proper training and 'dressing' for the weapon...

This is really no different than re-holstering into a 'concealed' position and having an article of clothing or something similar enter the trigger guard during the process and "bang' as you rip a round into your thigh :notsure:

Hundreds and hundreds of repetitions to make the process smooth, efficient and safe; followed by the mantra if you haven't trained w/it, don't deploy w/it and this includes clothing/weapon/retention configurations...

If a new shooter were to conduct 10 reps of drawing from his/her perfered concealed position (safely w/an empty weapon of course ;)) three times a day for a month, he/she would have conducted 900 reps... pretty damn good start to building muscle memory and each of those reps should have all components of a proper draw giving the shooter 900 reps of proper presentation w/o stepping on the range or spending a $ on ammo. When I say
'running' the gun; all of these steps, procedures and training protocols are working toward being able to properly and efficiently 'run the gun'...

This is a great first step to becoming a more efficient and safe operator of a pistol.

Winning a gunfight comes down to a single word... "Efficiency"... it's everything!!!

Efficiency in deploying your weapon, efficiency in your movement, efficiency in your use of cover/concealment, efficiency in your communication, etc...

But, most importantly... efficiency in avoiding the gunfight in the first place

Which means be aware of your surroundings; knowing how to operate and behave in a hostile or potentially hostile environment, knowing when you need to stand your ground or press forward vs. when to tactically retreat, knowing how to perceive AND react to your own instincts that cause the hair on the back of your neck to stand up; trust your instincts... if something doesn't FEEL right, it probably isn't!!! DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT IMMEDIATELY!!!! don't say to yourself, 'it'll probably be okay' and just carry on...

Turn down a different street, disengage from an argument, don't go into the store if it appears to be 'trouble ahead', do keep you head on a swivel (this doesn't mean living in fear just be aware), learn how to make proper eye contact in a respectful manner that let's people know... 'I see you and I see what you are doing or that you may be a threat; but I ain't the one you want to bet your life on today'!!!!

Situational awareness is an incredible skill to learn... there's a difference between looking and seeing!

Start becoming more aware by processing what your eyes are seeing... How many people in the room, is anyone's behavior 'out of place', can a see a weapon on anyone, is there anyone that appears nervous, is there anyone standing or walking w/intent and displaying that 1000 yd stare (huge red flag; shit is about to go down), teach yourself to scan a room or scan a person note the details... always note the conditions of someone's hands first! Hands kill.. then start at the head and work your way down (try to remember some details); when you enter a room scan at eye level, re-scan low, re-scan high... anything else need a second look??? How many people in the car next to you? What are they doing???

A good way to get really good at this process is to play games w/your friends, spouse, girlfriend, or kids... You enter a store and note a dude had a knife in a sheath at his side... ask you girl, "Did you see the guy w/the knife"; "what did he look like (specifics) features and clothing"; "how was the knife concealed or being worn", etc...

If doing this w/kids it doesn't have to be about weapons, you can ask about clothing colors, nearest exits, what was the cashier wearing, etc.... it still develops the skills necessary to have situational awareness.

Dude.... you need to find yourself a local hot yoga studio and go spend some time in there (take a cold beer w/you though).

Chicks (w/incredible bodies) will show up and just strip down to sports bras and leggings or even sports bras and a tiny as short (even had a couple in underwear like it was nothing)... Only cons to that though, dudes do the same thing so prepare yourself; plus it's HAF (think AZ heat at 90% humidity); and sweat is dripping and running all over the floor; and everyone stinks to high hell; and apparently like all other yoga classes it's acceptable to fart if you need to

but if you can get through all that :D
