Wife and I went to lunch today and talked about the upcoming eclipse..

We are dead set in the middle of the path and our county is making plans for THOUSANDS of visitors to come see it.

As for Lolli, she's on another continent, so I don't think I'll be running into her any time soon. Though, I'd like to. Not for any simp/perv reasons, but she's played a huge roll in giving music back to me after I lost it for a long time. For being someone I'll never meet, she had a massive impact on my life. So for the android users in here, what's the best way to build a music library? I don't have any apple products, and I don't want any. Amazon music sucks because it's a charge on top of prime. Is spotify the only answer? I kind of hate the streaming stuff because the actual artists don't benefit as much from it.

 

Seems to be. A lot of people pay for premium but even the free version is pretty good.

 

I'm just wondering if it's another Pandora type of thing. I don't want a radio service, but rather to build my own library of music that I can play on demand.

 

I think YouTube is also popular for music, but Spotify seems to be the big favorite.

 

I get that it's popular, but does it let you build a library or is it just a streaming radio service like pandora? I own a bunch of CDs, but the world is forcing everything digital, so I am hoping for something that is compatible with music I already own being ripped to a digital version and then being portable for use in the car, on walks, the gym, etc.

I don't know how spotify functions, and that is what I'm trying to get info on. Also, wanting to know if there are options that pay the artists more for purchasing their music.

 

Regarding the eclipse, totality is coming over NY, VT, NH and ME around 3:30p. It's actually going to be right over Mt. Washington, which would be an awesome viewing spot.

Anyways, I was going to take the kids up since we're only supposed to be at something like 94%.

Hotels are sold out and there are $150 tickets being sold for viewing parties. It's apparently a weekend long ordeal. Pretty nuts, but I think they are saying this is the last one until 2078 (or something like that), so last one for a lot of folks.

You can make lists in Spotify. So far the only one I've made is the default "liked songs" and I haven't checked what happens when you go back and try to listen to it.

 

Most important to me is the ability to rip what I have on CD and download/purchase new songs to be listened to with no need for internet, i.e. not streaming. I'd rather not have a monthly fee, but pay per song/album I download.
