    We had vac cap of 480hrs at the end of the year (that's what you could carry over); sick was unlimited...

    By year 8 I was taking 7-8 weeks off each year to not lose any time at the year end (counting earned vacation each year, plus 10hrs of holiday time here and there)...

    Full cash out on vaca at retirement, plus sell back 50% of remaining sick at 100% hourly rate... I left w/480 vaca, plus 2100hrs of sick, so paid out over 1500hrs of 100% hourly at retirement. :cool:

    Yeah, sick pay doesn't pay out when you quit/retire/get fired here. Vacation does. I try to burn up some vacation as it goes, because they used to only let you roll 40 hours into the next year. You started the year with the full amount though, because you were accruing it the year previous. They just made some changes that up the amount of vacation by a week, but I need to read the fine print and see if the rollover died with that change.
