I feel your pain. I find myself debating if I'm paying for it this year or buying a splitter instead. There's something to be said about paying current pricing for good, mostly bark free wood as opposed to saving a few bucks and doing it yourself over a weekend. That said, I like the exercise and I like yard equipment, so the "savings" is really more of a justification.

Everywhere I've looked, 375-560 is average for a full cord, delivered. 560 is kiln dried and pre stacked into 1/2 cord pallets. This is in the Acton//Littleton area. 375 is your minimally seasoned hardwood mix dropped out of a dump bed, complete with debris from their loader.

I haven't purchased wood in nearly 8 years, but from what I've been told, the prices have all gone wonky when the natural gas prices started to. I was expecting to be paying closer to 300/350 for the nicer product.

Not sure where you are I'm MA, but PM his information. Happy to support someone with a good product and reputation at a reasonable price.

Yes. We went to Hawaii in 2018, same year we started building the house. I brought home 2 lbs of black sand. Thought it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen and when TF am I ever gonna go back to Hawaii?!
Anyway, everything went to shit immediately afterward. Now, I don't believe in any of that shit,....but,.....the house build went off the rails, we went broke, a bunch of twists and turns at work that make it more stressful and stupid than it's ever been and my health took a total shit. Not to mention 2 big vehicle wrecks that needless to say, made life a bigger pain in the ass and probably didn't help my neck issues.
My wife looked it up for shits n giggles and turns out, people are constantly mailing black sand back to Hawaii because their life takes shit when they bring it home.
Sooooo, makes ya wonder.
But, it's my friggin sand. I lugged that shit 9000 mi and caught shit at the airport because they thought it might be black powder. I'm not giving it back and the universe can eat a dick if it's gonna be like this.
Edit: forgot to mention, a ton of drama with both our families, which we don't talk to anymore. That was probably coming anyway because they're all shitty people, but all the extra stress pushed us to pull the plug early.

That is probably the worst flight in the US...and I mean any flight to Vegas. Going there people are tuned up and obnoxious and coming back people are hug over and obnoxious.

So, what did you do with the sand? In a jar on the mantle? In a fish tank? Make a bonsai sand garden?

I was gonna make a plexiglass display, like an ant farm kinda thing. Maybe sift it and do layers of the different grain sizes. Haven't got around to it. My wife seriously considered sending it back.
It told she would have to fight me.

I just looked it up. Different stuff. Michigan has magnetite.
The stuff in Hawaii is basaltic lava. It's jet black. Really wild to see in person. I'll dig it out sometime and take a pic. And then a piano will probably fall on me.

Doesn't help this trip is literally the week of the F1 race - will be flying out Thursday morning as the whole crowd will be flying in for the weekend.
