Looks like Hwy 195 south. Going thru McCall to have lunch with family, then into Boise. Will be looking for @jewsNbrews when we pass Lewiston.

BTW, downtown Spokane is hoping. Any decent restaurant had a 30min wait this evening. Really nice to see a large city in this state doing things right (ahem).

 

Nice! Definitely the more scenic route and have driven that road more times than I can count when going to college in Moscow. Our family has a cabin on the outskirts of McCall and absolutely love that area. Spent a lot of time there before it got popular.

We had some customers in town for work today and they said the same thing. Flights we packed and booked and finding a hotel was not easy.

 

I wanted to drive thru Moscow, but it adds too much time. Loosing the hour crossing time zones is a killer when trying to get there by noon. 4.5hr drive is now 5.5hrs on the clock.

Looks like there’s some big high school basketball thing going on. Saw a few signs for it and there are big groups of kids in the restaurants.

 

I’m gonna say that Black was their last great album. There’s stuff I like on every album, and Black was when I really got into them, but Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are their apex.

That top one was my first concert - I was 15. Look at those ticket prices! $35.50 for general admission floor tickets in 1997! I paid 10x that for fourth row seats on the World Wired tour in 2018. And the upcoming double-show over Labor Day weekend I’m not even gonna say

 

yeah - the album itself I'm not a big fan of, but when they play some of it live it's actually not bad.

 

Newsted had an energy live that Trujilo just doesn't have. Jason left everything on the stage. He was fun to watch.

I wish I'd gotten to see Cliff play live.

 

Megadeth has some great guitar work.
It can be hard to get past Dave's voice though sometimes.

I personally enjoy them both. Throw in some Anthrax and Slayer and you've got the OG's of Thrash.

We watched this in a small independent theater here in town when it came out - it was a cool story and brought back a lot of my memories of exploring these bands in Jr. High and High School.

We have two independent radio stations. The university station (CJSR.com) has a couple punk shows and a few hard rock and heavy metal shows. Unfortunately, they cancelled their bluegrass show a couple years back for some reason.

 

These are like crack. That is all.
