I like Alaska but cannot stand the boarding methodology of SWA. most the SLC-DEN Delta flights are SkyWorst and those park on the ramp and bus you to the terminal and then you have the long walk. The Airport has taken a lot of heat over the tunnel mess but it shaved a year off the project and saved millions.

 

I prefer Hawaiian Airlines.

 

Nothing like flying with an airline in chapter 11 reorganization skimping on maintenance to feel safe.

Edit - their two bankruptcies were some time ago and I am informed that Hawaiian has never "lost a hull" aka crashed a jet. But I assume you were referring to its locale because you love doing the hula!

 

I haven't traveled since 2013, which is fine with me. But a company I worked for had the navy supervisor of salvage contract. The CEO had a policy that we wouldn't fly on an airline that we did a salvage operation on. I believe Alaskan was on that list.

 

That and the free watered down rum punch cocktails!
I've always had great service on Hawaiian, Delta, not so much.

 

Edit: can't pass up 12 hours of double time tomorrow.

The thread was actually fairly entertaining, and the guy that started it up and wound up hammered was..... not a big loss.

 

Dinner was house-made chicken and waffles. Waffles had chives, pepper and cheddar and a splash of Hanks Wing Sauce. The baked chicken had BBQ rub

 

My guess would be that he saw some people getting vacations for political speak that wasn't pro our current administration and his stupidity led him to believe that the motivation was an opposite political slant to those that were booted. I mean, it couldn't possibly be that the mods take the no politics policy serious and will ban both those they agree with and disagree with. That would require them being rational people.

 

I've never had chicken and waffles. Why is it "so amazing" as I've been told?

 

Sweet from the syrup, salty and heat from the chicken. It is an amazing combo if everything is done right.

 

Oh, I'm down to try it, but every time I'm somewhere that does it I find something else that I'm craving/want more. I'm in no way avoiding it. I've actually been trying to broaden my palette in recent months. I forced down pineapple on pizza until I can eat it without complaint, and I've been trying to build up more of a tolerance to hot foods. Went with some hotter wings than normal at Buffalo Wild Wings this past week, and they were really tasty. I paid dearly about 4 hours later, though.

 

Would it be acceptable to try it sans syrup? I don't use a ton on pancakes/waffles anyway, and I tend more toward savory flavors with meat.

 

Like I said, I've always found something that sounded amazing at those places. Pineapple on pizza is a 4 or 5 at best. I can eat it without complaining, but it is never my first choice. It sits just below a cheese pizza with anchovies.

 

I actually prefer chicken and waffles where the chicken isn't spicy. I had it one time where the "sauce" on the chicken was just gallons of Frank's and it was not good.
