WTH is "hot honey?" Why TH would you put any kind of honey on pizza? I am so confused.

 

Not laughing at the predicament, it's that goofy meme.

I've been there and it took me a while to figure out a way to manage my finances so that I didn't carry a balance. Everyone has to find a system that works for them. For some the Ramsey approach is the way, for others it's a super strict to the penny record keeping approach, but I had to basically lie to myself to not be broke all the time. I can share it if you'd like; but, as I believe financial well being is an individual thing, I am not liable if my methods do not work for others.

Mike’s hot honey on a great pepperoni pizza is amazing. I also recommend hot honey with chicken.

 

I am hesitant, because I'm not a big fan of honey or hot stuff.

It has it's struggles, but happiness always has a price. I still do that kind of stuff, but I have at least gotten to where I don't hurt myself as badly as I did in my youth. I was dumb and wound up with $10K on a credit card when I was making like 9 bucks an hour... That took some time to correct, and the only thing I found that worked was not knowing how much money I really have!

 

Maybe. How hot is it, for one thing. I'm a wuss. Much hotter than a jalapeno and I don't really taste anything and it sucks. Also, not sure I'd put it on pizza. Maybe on a hot dog with ketchup and mustard, but only because that's about the only way I eat bottled honey.

 

Fair enough. Is Mike's a store specific brand? Also, it still won't go on pizza. The whole issue with pineapple on pizza is that pizza should not be sweet. Keep your damn honey away from my pizza.

It has been a week of giant WTFs.

For example, we have hired back a lot of retirees as contractors to help with a surge of work. Many are complaining about the current work environment or having to “get up early”. W. T. F. You are sitting on a fat retirement package, and now earning 1.5x your old salary working however many hours you want. You should be suffering from uncontrollable giggles based on the money you are pulling in OR going back into retirement. Quit chitting on my desk.

Or…there are a few people that can financially retire anytime they want, but are not mentally ready (whatever the phuk that means). If they work into 2023 their pension will take a 15%+ hit (all this inflation hurts the calculations). They will literally not earn enough money by working in 2023 to make up for the loss but they cannot get themselves to even consider retiring this year.

And that’s the stuff I can cryptically discuss here. There is so much more that is campfire talk.

 

Sounds like most situations. I've learned that awkwardness and WTFs make the world go 'round.

Questions on the pension peeps: Has it been explained with math that working '23 will cost them money? Would they have the option to "retire" but then work as contractors like the other group you mentioned?

 

Yes and Yes. There are a few people getting ready to jump and then come back as contractors but a few more that cannot handle change. Even when not changing is detrimental to them.

I was working with a retired guy who came back on contract and midway through a training course he raised his hand and said "I have a problem. I've now been awake for 4 consecutive hours and I'm just not used to that any more."
