Girl slams into the back of me on I10 east of Tucson. Her car is totaled. Im Pissed....brand new 2016 Limited TRD CM with 822 miles on the odometer. I drove 100 miles home after the accident...her Corolla left on a flat bed. Just had an estimate done and the damage is $6500

I dont think she even hit the brakes....speed limit was 65. Traffic was slowed to a crawl because of an accident ahead of me when she slammed me full bore.

Look out for frame/hitch damage. Those are structural; I'm sure your appraiser will check them out -- I hope.

A lot of people would be calling a lawyer right now with whiplash. Glad you were in a Tundra. When I traded in my 2010 Mazda 3S for my 2016 SR5 4WD, I thought my insurance would have skyrocketed. It went down! I'm sure it's because of the safety of the truck.

Don't be quick to write being injured off. Getting hit at that speed his no Bueno. My wife has been in some pretty bad wrecks where she was rear ended. Years later she has had serious pains in her neck. Right now she is going to PT two times a week. That is not cheap, and now it is on my dime.

I would go get checked out to make sure nothing is wrong with your spinal system. It is quick, and cheap to you. X-rays is all that is needed and a chiropractor can tell you in minutes.

Another thing, when settling this whole deal, make damn sure you get paid for deminished value so you do not get royally screwed when selling or trading in your 16' Tundra. This most likely will show up on a car fax.
One of my friends did not do this and he lost 10k in trade in value just for the accident. He was pissed.

    What ColoradoTJ said...

My wife was rear ended when she was 18 sitting at a stop light. 10+ years later and we're still dealing with neck/back pain as a result of that accident and the insurance stopped covering PT per the settlement last year. So if you do end up going that route make sure there is no limit on when PT is covered.

Glad everyone is okay for now, but definitely get looked at. She didn't start having pain until 3 days after the accident.
