I drilled a hole in the back of my tray and ran the cable for an Apple brand MagSafe charger that is velcroed to the top of the tray. Then I bought this wireless CarPlay adapter.

Not as pretty but I never have to plug my phone in and it just snaps into place when I drop it in the tray. Also I don’t have to worry about crappy power delivery from those weird brands.

    That is what I have.
It doesn't get as hot as the OEM charger I first installed.
I like that the MagSafe magnet holds it in place too.
I can open the console cover without the phone falling off..

Same here. My 2020's HU always gitched out and froze with the wired connection. Some folks here said the wireless CarPlay adapters solved it and sure enough, I have 0 issues now with it.
